OFFICE OF THE MAYOR ARLINGTON, TEXAS WHEREAS, the Class of2018 is the first graduating class of Arlington Collegiate High School at Tarrant County College Southeast Campus; and WHEREAS, more than 85 graduates of the Class of 2018 have had the valuable opportunity in this partnership between Arlington Independent .. School District and Tarrant County College Southeast Campus to earn not only their high school diploma, but to simultaneously earn an associate college degree; and WHEREAS, it is of the utmost importance that we, as a community, do all that we can to encourage and aid these graduates in their further success by continuing their learning journey and extending their higher education opportunity; and WHEREAS, Texas Trust Credit Union is playing a valuable role in aiding these graduates by providing a $1,000 scholarship for each student of the inaugural Arlington Collegiate High School class to continue their education; and WHEREAS, cooperation and collaboration among Arlington Independent School District, Tarrant County College Southeast Campus, and Texas Trust is a shining example of what a community can do to advance the education prospects of at-risk students and help them build a brighter future. NOW, THEREFORE, I, W. Jeff Williams, Mayor of the City of Arlington, Texas, and on behalf of the Arlington City Council, do hereby proclaim May 19, 2018 as ACHS CLASS OF 2018 RECOGNITION DAY IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City to be affixed this 19 th day of May in the year of Our Lord two thousand and eighteen.
