GENERAL RULES� Deposit your bags and other personal belongings

at the Property Counter against a Token. Rs.100.00 will be charged for loss of Token.

� Members should make In/Out entry in Gate register.

� Library is a Silence Zone. Talk in low tone while in the Library. Maintain discipline and decorum. Keep Mobile Phones in silent mode.

� No eatables are allowed inside the Library.

� Personal Books are not allowed inside main reading/book stack areas except in the designated Common Reading Area.

� Library staff will not be responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings of the users.

� Marking, scratching, mutilating, stealing Library resources/damaging property will invite disciplinary action including suspension/debarring.

GENERAL INFORMATIONMEMBERSHIP • For Library Membership fill application form and

submit at the Library Circulation Desk along with two-stamp size latest photos. Membership is valid till completion of the course or four years, whichever is early.

• Produce Library Membership Card on demand at the Reception and also to borrow Books/Reading material.

• Membership will be cancelled/suspended at any time in case of any misuse and misbehavior with Library Staff and other Members in the Library premises.

• Inform the Library immediately loss of Library Membership Card. Duplicate card will be issued on payment of Rs. 100/-

KNOW YOUR LIBRARYThe Learning Resource Centre (LRC) – the Central Library, at the heart of the Campus, provides an ideal environment for intellectual inquiry with its multiple Study Spaces; Research Assistance; and Reading, Learning and Instructional Resources. The State-of-the-Art ICT facilities established provide much needed services to support excellence in Teach-ing, Learning, Research and Extension. The User focused facilities and services provide seamless access to resources and to evaluate Scholarly information to learn and create new Knowledge.

At present, the LRC caters to over 15,000 Students pursuing Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses, Research Scholars, and about 1,000 Faculty and Staff members. The LRC is housed on three floors with a carpet area of 3,307 sqms accommodating various facilities, reading and learning resources, and seating arrangements for about 500 Users at any point of time. Wi-Fi, Internet access, Electrical plug-in facilities, etc., are provided at all Reading areas and Study carrels.

The Virtual Learning Resource Lab and Study Carrels having 100 Apple Computers in networked environment provide Internet access, Digital Learning Resources and Online access to major E-Journals and E-Books on Science and Technology, Management, Health Sciences and Social Sciences available from VTU, HELINET and N-LIST / e-Shodha Sindhu (UGC-INFLIBNET) Consortia.

KOHA, an Integrated Library Management Software package is used for Library operations and resource sharing among the Acharya Institutes’ Libraries. Centrally well protected Fire alarms, CCTV surveil-lance, and RFID technology provide much needed security. Qualified, experienced and well trained Library professionals serve the user community with excellence and provide assistance in meeting academic and research information needs.
