WHAT IS THE ACFE ANTI-FRAUD EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP?
Benefits
The Anti-Fraud Education Partnership was created by Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, and chairman of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), due to the lack of anti-fraud training in higher education.
Since its inception in 2002, the ACFE has provided free resources including a sample syllabus, case studies and videos, to assist in adequately preparing students in the basic elements of fraud prevention, detection and examination. The discipline of fraud examination draws knowledge from accounting, law, criminology and fraud investigation principles. Therefore, students enrolled in accounting, finance, business administration or criminal justice should have at least minimal training in this area.
The 2018 Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse states, “Among the various kinds of fraud that organizations might be faced with, occupational fraud is likely the largest and most prevalent threat.” That threat is the epitome of why your university should join this free partnership.

The ACFE, founded in 1988, is the world’s largest anti-fraud
organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and
education.
It has long recognized the importance of beginning anti-fraud
education with students at the university level.
What we found was that there was a lot of de-
mand for the course, and students told us that what they learned was very beneficial no mat-ter what career they go into. Having these skills
makes them better and more discriminating share-
holders, auditors, consultants, tax advisors or
fraud examiners.
