Pre commission requirements

General Requirements

Selection of site

Where there is any option, a site should be chosen in one of the following types of soil in the order of

preference given.

Wet marshy ground

Clay, loamy soil, arable land, clayey soil or loam mixed with small quantities of sand.

Clay and loam mixed with varying proportion of sand and stones.

Damp and wet sand, peat.

Machine area

The machine and CNC should not be exposed to direct sun light or any other heat source.

The area should be free from dust, moisture, standing water, liquid or rain etc.

The machine to be installed on foundation and levelling pads supplied by ACE

Anti-vibration pads from local agency should not be used

The machine should not be placed near the vibrating source like punch press, Forging equipment,

Magnetic or electric sources

Main Electrical Power Connection Details

Safety:

Electrical supply requirements:.

NOTE:

Rating of Stabilizer : Based on the model as per machine power ratings,

Power cable specification is 10 sqmm, 4core, multi stand copper flexible cable with lugs and crimped.

Use ELCB as per the machine rating with 30mA tripping current

ELCB to be used prior to the input supply to safe guard the man, machine and stabilizer, which trips whenever

leakage of current more than 30ma.

Electrical grounding requirements

To prevent personnel injury due to any abnormal current surges which may result from electrical

malfunction, proper earthing has to be done.

Earthing Requirement

Machine should be earthed independently to prevent the machine from malfunctioning due to leakage

current/electrical noise, personal injury malfunctioning of machine. Proper earthing also safeguards the

operator.

Earthing should be isolated from the earthing of electric discharging machine, electrical welders and

punch presses etc

Ground resistance shall be below 100ohms and earth neutral voltage should always be less than 3Vac

It is recommended to use copper wire/strip for earthing connection as it has high conductance and isalso anti-corrosive.

Earthing bar should be of rectangular copper / bare copper wire (16 sq.mm).

o Earthing has to be done as per electrical standards (Refer the Drawing Below)

Fluid Preparation

Fill the hydraulic power pack, guide way Lubrication unit, coolant tank with proper grade of oils and

concentration as per specification.

Refer following table for complete details for oils used on machine

Note: Coolant should be water soluble, Non synthetic and the recommended ratio is 1:7,

Recommended to use DM water only.

Turret is already filled with gear oil for Lubrication and needs to be checked & topped up when

required.

Requirement of incoming air supply

Always use air drier prior to the air connection to the machine.

Make sure no moisture is present in the air supplied to machine and that the capacity of compressor can

take care of the machine air requirement, or else machines performance can get affected.

Select compressor as per the machines required CFM

Be careful to place the machine down slowly to prevent it from sudden dropping on

the floor, which can cause injuries, result in expensive repairs and void the

warranty. In case of lifting the machine by group, proper coordination between the

members of the group has to be ensured. Lifting method pasted on machine

Lifting and Positioning of CNC machine:

Remove coolant tank, Chip conveyor and other accessories mounted around the machine from the skid.

Machine should be lifted only by crane

Lifting method by Crane which is pasted on machine:

The machine to be lifted by overhead crane (lifting arrangement is as shown in the figure)

Gross weight of the machine is marked on the packing case.

Use only standard rope from a reputed supplier for slinging of the machine & other parts capable ofwithstanding a weight of 5 tons.

Check if the rope loads on any sheet metal cover or any parts of the machine. Provide waste cloth or

wooden pieces, where the rope touches the sheet metal guard.

Check for the balance of machine forward & backward, right & left with the machine slightly lifted.

After perfect balance, lift the machine till it clears the clamping bolts.

Do not lift the machine any farther than necessary of the skid.

Preliminary Inspection:

Check for any physical damage to the machine because of transportation & it has to be informed to

MMT/ACE immediately.

Check all the items received as per Packing List, both for those mounted on the machine & those

packed in the carton box.

List down the shortage items / discrepancies, if any and inform the same to MMT/ACE immediately
