INTRODUCTION OF ACEHK The Association of Consulting Engineers of Hong Kong (ACEHK) is a non-profit making association representing the consulting engineering profession in Hong Kong. As an industry group, the association seeks to set and maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics of consulting engineers, promote the advancement of the profession of consulting engineering and promote the professional interests, rights, powers and privileges of consulting engineers.   

AIM OF THE SEMINAR  Projects, especially mega infrastructure works, in built environment have become more complex and technically challenging in both design and construction stages due to proximity to existing constraints and multiple interfaces. The new era of challenges also includes public expectation of works of better quality delivered in a safer environment. While there is potential to uplift the industry standard and quality through digital transformation and emerging technologies, the construction industry is named as being one of the sectors with the least degree of embracing these elements that enable the engineering practice to advance. This year’s Annual Seminar aims to discuss the hurdles in prohibiting the industry to innovate, to share good practices and to simulate the thoughts on the ways to uplift the quality of civil engineering works from planning, design to construction and operation phases. The seminar will bring together the leading experts from a spectrum of disciplines to share their insights and experience in the state-of-the-art practice, and how digital tools and new technologies can be applied to assist the consulting engineering practice to transform to cope with the new norm of project delivery.
