Massachusetts consistently ranks #1 in EE by ACEEE, but has doubled its dependency on gas since 2000.

WHERE DO INTERESTS ALIGN?

Approximately 30 gas plants have been built in New England since 2000.

The region now gets 50% of its power from gas, versus 10%‒15% a decade ago.

Pipeline capacity is such that during periods of cold weather the system struggles to provide power to both residential heating customers and power plants.

Two immediate areas where sharing information about consumption would be beneficial: Combined heat and power (CHP) Demand response (gas!)
