The Model 7700™ Master Control Unit provides integrated flow monitoring capability with centralized control and enhanced real-time connectivity to multiple pipes and/or channels within a single plant or network of plants. The 7700 allows for flexible configurations of flow measurement networks across pressurized pipes, penstocks, low-head intakes, and open channels. The networked flowmeter system uses the Model 7720™ Flowmeter to measure flowrates in more than one pipe or channel. The system can be expanded with additional 7720 Flowmeters to simultaneously monitor flowrates in up to 64 separate locations. Measurable pipe/ channel sizes range from 8 inch (200 mm) to 500 feet (150 m) in diameter. The Model 7720 Flowmeter utilizes the multiple parallel-path transit-time technique, an absolute flow measurement method which is capable of achieving high accuracy under difficult metering conditions. Flowrate is calculated in the 7720 via full-profile integration of the flow velocity measured at each acoustic path. Measurement accuracies to within + or - 0.5% of true flowrate can be achieved. In addition, the 7700-7720 System can provide flow measurements in accordance with the ASME PTC 18-2002 test code using up to 18-paths in a single pipe application.
