Universities offers MBA & AICTE Approved Colleges offers PGDM : In India only those management institutes which are affiliated to a

university can offer an Regular MBA degree. Also IIMs, though being the best of the lot, can't offer MBAs as they are not affiliated with any

university. Institutes which are not affiliated to university are autonomous and can offer PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) degree after

getting the approval by regulatory body named AICTE. 1 1

Difference in focus of curriculum: MBA focuses more on theoretical aspects of management and is more exam-oriented, PGDM has a focus on building soft skills and is industry-oriented, It prepares you for the job

Difference in focus: An MBA will help in developing technical skills and business knowledge whereas a PGDM will prepare graduates for senior

Content /Syllabus/Pedagogy : PGDM programmes contents have a close relevance to the practice as the institutes have to ensure that the

students are industry ready with innovative teaching practices. A lot of PGDM academic board has a mix of academicians and industry members

and the frequency of updation of the syllabi is higher, as against the University system MBA that has the Members of Board of studies

predominantly academicians and the syllabus revision in many Universities is done once in 3-5 years. 1 0

ADMISSION PROCEDURE @ IBA

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The aspirant should have minimum 50% marks in the Graduation from any Recognised University , 45% in case of reserved category.

The following Aptitude Tests scores are accepted:CAT 2011 | XAT 2012 | MAT (Sept 2011, Dec 2011, Feb 2012, May 2012)|GMAT (Scores after Mar 2010)I ATMA 2011/12

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMETo avail scholarship test any one of the following Criteria’s should be met :

-> Min.60 % marks in Xth ,XIIth & Graduation -> More than 60 percentile in CAT’2011

-> More than 75 percentile in MAT 2011/2012

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT• All those students who meet the criteria mentioned in the

previous slide would be awarded by the scholarship & the amount would be upto `.50000/-

• Category “A” : Student having 60% through-out X,XII & Grad ,would be awarded by the scholarship upto `.50,000/- and the amount would be calculated on the basis of the student’s performance in GD/PI, psychometric test & essay writing test

• Category “B”: Student having more than 60 percentile in CAT or more than 75 percentile in MAT ,would be awarded with the scholarship & the amount of award would be the following :

• Note the final decision about the scholarship amount will be taken by the Management of IBA.
