bull Minimum CGPA of 40

bull No ldquoIrdquo grade in any course

bull Not more than 4 lsquoDrsquos and 2 lsquoFrsquos or 1 lsquoFrsquo

and 2 lsquoDrsquos

Of total 20 sessions if a student is absent

for 4 ndash 5 classes then the grade he or she

has obtained will be reduced by one lower

letter (Example A- to B-) and if he or she

is absent for 6-8 classes grade will be

lowered by 2 letters

Qualifying Criteria

PREPARATION FOR ARRIVAL

Vaccination

Kindly consult your local physician and ensure that you are adequately vaccinated

Weather

The climate is generally warm with moderate rainfall in September and October It starts getting

cold in November and you may require heavy woollens in December to February

Course Load

Students at MDI take a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 credits per term Courses are usually

3 credits each but can be 15 credits as well One credit implies 10 contact hours of work in the

classroom The parent school determines the number of credit hours taken by exchange students

Usually exchange students take 4-5 three-credit courses International students can opt for

courses from the PGPM and PGHR programmes offered by MDI The medium of instruction for all

courses is English

Registration requirements at FRO

Exchange students are required to register themselves at the Local Foreign Registration office

within a week of their arrival An appointment for the same can be taken by online registering

themselves (link given above) and taking a letter from International Relations Office for SHO

Students who are staying in India for a period of less than 180 days are not required to register

themselves at the FRO However if your visa stamp requires you to get you registered at the FRO

you must do so

FACILITIES ON CAMPUS 10

Housing (Hostel Accommodation)

The PGPM program at MDI is fully residential Apart from being convenient living on the campus

will facilitate easy interaction with the regular MBA students who are all required to stay at the

hostel The housing facility provided at the studentsrsquo hostel is done on a payment basis The

bathroom and toilet facilities are cleaned every day and every bathroom has a hot water facility

The housing will be on a double occupancy basis Prior registration for the rooms is not required

Room charges are 13000 INR per month (inclusive of air conditioning)

Common Room

For the benefit of exchange students there is a common room provided and is equipped with

facilities like a kitchenette television satellite TV a computer and a refrigerator

Food

The student hostel has a mess where meals are provided at a nominal rate The student mess

takes good care of most of your needs with the usual breakfastlunchdinner In addition there are

3 canteens on campus where tea coffee soft drinks packaged juice noodles Cheese and butter

toasts etc are served The night canteens remain open till 4am in the morning Mess charges are

average 4000-5000 INR

Water

You may use Packaged Drinking Water during your first few days in India Purified water is

available at Water CoolersWater Filters at MDI Be careful about not drinking water from the taps

as it is not fit for consumption

Laundry

Rohit Laundry Service is a mechanized laundry facility whereby students can get their clothes

washed and ironed at nominal rates

Computers

All hostel rooms are wired up and allow access to the InternetIntranet through the MDI network

However students have to make arrangements for their own computer You may bring along a

laptop from your home country However when you bring your laptop along please declare it at

Customs when entering the country To get logged onto the network please contact the Computer

Center Helpdesk Your buddy will help you with this Students can also use the Computer Center

which is open from 800 AM to 200 AM in Lakshya Building and contains more than 100 terminals

Text Books

Textbooks and other study material for all courses will be provided by MDI at the time of

registration (a nominal amount will be charged for the books)

Banks

MDI has an ATM on campus which is compatible with all International ATM cards

Hospital

A doctor is available till 400 PM inside the campus A number of hospitals are located near the MDI

campus Few of them are located in the Sector 14 residential colony which is a short distance from

the campus

bull Not more than 4 lsquoDrsquos and 2 lsquoFrsquos or 1 lsquoFrsquo

Of total 20 sessions if a student is absent

for 4 ndash 5 classes then the grade he or she

has obtained will be reduced by one lower

letter (Example A- to B-) and if he or she

is absent for 6-8 classes grade will be

lowered by 2 letters

Kindly consult your local physician and ensure that you are adequately vaccinated

Weather

The climate is generally warm with moderate rainfall in September and October It starts getting

cold in November and you may require heavy woollens in December to February

Course Load

Students at MDI take a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 credits per term Courses are usually

3 credits each but can be 15 credits as well One credit implies 10 contact hours of work in the

classroom The parent school determines the number of credit hours taken by exchange students

Usually exchange students take 4-5 three-credit courses International students can opt for

courses from the PGPM and PGHR programmes offered by MDI The medium of instruction for all

courses is English

Registration requirements at FRO

Exchange students are required to register themselves at the Local Foreign Registration office

within a week of their arrival An appointment for the same can be taken by online registering

themselves (link given above) and taking a letter from International Relations Office for SHO

Students who are staying in India for a period of less than 180 days are not required to register

themselves at the FRO However if your visa stamp requires you to get you registered at the FRO

you must do so

FACILITIES ON CAMPUS 10

Housing (Hostel Accommodation)

The PGPM program at MDI is fully residential Apart from being convenient living on the campus

will facilitate easy interaction with the regular MBA students who are all required to stay at the

hostel The housing facility provided at the studentsrsquo hostel is done on a payment basis The

bathroom and toilet facilities are cleaned every day and every bathroom has a hot water facility

The housing will be on a double occupancy basis Prior registration for the rooms is not required

Room charges are 13000 INR per month (inclusive of air conditioning)

Common Room

For the benefit of exchange students there is a common room provided and is equipped with

facilities like a kitchenette television satellite TV a computer and a refrigerator

Food

The student hostel has a mess where meals are provided at a nominal rate The student mess

takes good care of most of your needs with the usual breakfastlunchdinner In addition there are

3 canteens on campus where tea coffee soft drinks packaged juice noodles Cheese and butter

toasts etc are served The night canteens remain open till 4am in the morning Mess charges are

average 4000-5000 INR

Water

You may use Packaged Drinking Water during your first few days in India Purified water is

available at Water CoolersWater Filters at MDI Be careful about not drinking water from the taps

as it is not fit for consumption

Rohit Laundry Service is a mechanized laundry facility whereby students can get their clothes

washed and ironed at nominal rates

Computers

All hostel rooms are wired up and allow access to the InternetIntranet through the MDI network

However students have to make arrangements for their own computer You may bring along a

laptop from your home country However when you bring your laptop along please declare it at

Customs when entering the country To get logged onto the network please contact the Computer

Center Helpdesk Your buddy will help you with this Students can also use the Computer Center

which is open from 800 AM to 200 AM in Lakshya Building and contains more than 100 terminals

Textbooks and other study material for all courses will be provided by MDI at the time of
