sector plan scheme viz “In-Service Training and Sensitization of Central and State Govt.,

Local Bodies and other Service providers at the national level”. Rehabilitation Council of

India, New Delhi entrusted the School of Education, NetajiSubhas Open University, and

Kolkata to conduct the programme for the financial year 2015-16.

In this context the 1st Sensitization programme was held at Kalyani campus, NSOU during

26-28th November 2015 with 40 participants in district of Nadia and 24PGS ( North ).

for forty participants from 24 Parganas and

Kolkata districts of West Bengal. Sm. Swapna

(H.I.), School of Education, NSOU, was the

Coordinator of the Programme. After

Registration of the Participants, the Sensitization

programmewas carried out as per the

programmeschedule.Shri S. K. Srivastava,

Member Secretary, RCI, was present during this

session.Outstanding lectures were delivered by

eminent speakers during the three day

Programme.

Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. A. N. Dey, Director, SoE, NSOU. Prof. S. K. Sarkar,

Head, Core faculty, SoE, NSOU, introduced the Theme of the entire programme. Swami

1ST FIVE - DAY NATIONAL LEVEL REFRESHER COURSE

The University has conducted the 1stFive - Day National Level Refresher Course on “Research

Methodology in Disability Rehabilitation” 16th to 20th January, 2017 at Seminar Room, NSOU HQs, D.D-

26, Sector- I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata- 700 064 Participants Bearing RCI Registration Number from Several Districts of West Bengal.Theprogramme began with the melodious recitation of Vedic Hymns in a solemn

ambience. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. A.N. Dey, Respected Director, School of Education,

NSOU. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Prof. Basab Choudhury, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, West Bengal State University, Barasat, West Bengal. Dr. Dipak Kumar Kar, Chairman, West Bengal College

Service Commission, was the Chief Guest and delivered his valuable speech regarding present scenario of

researches in disability sector. Dr. AlokaGuha, Former Chairperson, National Trust, New Delhi and Mr. AsokChakraborty, Chairperson, Zonal Coordination Committee, RCI delivered their precious words in

research of disability. Presidential address was delivered by Professor SubhaSankar Sarkar, the Hon’ble Vice

Handicapped Rehabilitation Society, New Town, Shushrut Nagar, Siliguri, Darjeeling, West

Bengal.

Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has developed a new central sector plan scheme viz“In-Service Training

and Sensitization of Central and State Govt., Local Bodies and other Service providers at the national level”.

Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi entrusted the School of Education, Netaji Subhas Open University,

Kolkata to conduct the programme in the four different Venues of West Bengal (Annexure enclosed) for the

financial year 2016-17. In this connection the University has conducted the 5th Sensitization programof the series on

and from 16th to 18th February 2017 at the North Bengal Handicapped Rehabilitation Society, New Town, Shushrut
