INCIDENT 57
Mohammed Sadiq , 10 year old, was terminally-ill being diagnosed with advanced blood cancer. He, a Class IV student, had to drop out of school after being diagnosed with the disease.
But that didn’t stop Mohammed Sadiq from his dreams of becoming a police commissioner.
NGO ‘Make a Wish’ contacted the Police Commissioner Mr Mahender Reddy who made it become a reality for
one day.
A guard of honour was mounted with armed men and a music band at the portico, while several policemen and media waited.
On Wednesday morning, the Police Commissioner office got ready to receive “the Police Commissioner”.
Soon a police vehicle rolled in and Mohammed stepped out, accompanied by two police officers.
Clad in a khaki uniform, Mohammed received the guard of honour and walked in. The policemen saluted him.
He ‘signed’ few official documents and headed to the conference hall to address the media.
“I want to catch rowdies and bring peace in the state,” said Mohammed Sadiq with a smile when asked what
he would do as commissioner.
Mohammed was inspired by his uncle and other family members working in the police department.
“When I get well, I want to study more and become a police officer,” he said.
