Discrimination against LGBT People Is Illegal!
You cannot be denied health insurance or Medicaid coverage based on a diagnosis
such as HIV or gender dysphoria.
Insurers cannot charge you more because of your sexual orientation or gender
identity.
Your Medicaid or insurance benefits must be the same as others on the same
plan regardless of your sexual orientation or gender identity.
If you experience discrimination in
applying for coverage or accessing care, file a complaint through Health and
Human Services at http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/civilrights/compl
aints/index.html
