2017 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

There are several ways the Church of the Brethren will be a witness to the city of
Grand Rapids during Annual Conference this summer. We will participate by
collecting items for the following:
Witness to the Host City—Bethany Christian Services
Since 1944, Bethany Christian Services has been reaching out to children who are
alone or vulnerable. In Grand Rapids, they work with families for the first six
months they are in the country. Helping with everything from meeting them at
the airport, providing language training, and helping them find a job. They are an
affiliate of the Church World Service Immigration and Refugee Program.
WE can help by donating the following items:
Twin and full sheet sets
Pens and pencils
Envelopes
Notebooks
Scotch tape
Refugee Education Center
Their mission is to support refugee children and families to gain the necessary
skills for successful integration into the community through education support,
youth development services, and fostering cultural knowledge and understanding.
The REC has a strong history of meeting the unique needs of refugee students.
WE can help by donating the following items:
Back packs
Peanut-free granola bars
Small bags of crackers (Cheeze-its, Goldfish, Wheat Thins, etc.)
Small bags of pretzels or popcorn
Small bags of dried fruit
Please drop your items in the narthex box.

Camp Swatara is seeking year-round and seasonal paid and
volunteer staff. Current openings include a Housekeeping Assistant,
Family Camp Assistant, Paid Counselors (male), Volunteer
Counselors (female and male), and a Health Manager. More infor-
mation and applications available at www.campswatara.org.
The PRESCHOOL is seeking two individuals to serve on the Board of Directors starting in July. Anyone wishing to serve a ministry of the church in this capacity should contact Renee Brown at 724-809-6433.

The PRESCHOOL is in need of an Assistant Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten 1 Class. The position is part-time, beginning the end of August and running through May. Anyone interested in learning more about applying for this job should contact Cindy Bradley at (717)933-4500 or (717)274-9875.
