Abstract WatercolorObjective: You will use knowledge of
compositional strategies in order make an abstract watercolor that demonstrates a verb or phrase.
DRILL:Thursday and Friday- just get started.Today- learn abstract watercolor- work on
watercolor or acrylic.1. Get a cup of water, brush for watercolor,
and newspaper square for drying brush.2. We will look at a few ideas for showing
action or concepts in abstract painting.3. Goal: To pick one or more of Richard
Serra’s phrases or verbs and attempt to make an artwork that shows that word.

2. Non-objective Acrylic painting with successful composition.3. Non-objective Watercolor piece demonstrating Richard Serra’s
verbs.4. 15 pages in altered book. (3 required goals-
1. Draw a person from observation.2. Imitate an artist’s style or culture.3. The study of something.
