ABSTRACT The title of this project is “How does the distance affecting the sound intensity?” The experiment is carry out by using the appliance with software “sound meter” is placed beside the computer by the distance, x=20cm. The frequency of the tone generator had adjusted to 2000Hz. The reading of sound intensity, I is recorded. The steps above are repeated by increasing the distance, x between the appliance with software “sound meter” and the computer gradually by 20cm. Based on this experiment, as the distance of sound meter from the tone generator increased, the sound intensity decreased. To improve this experiment, the steps above repeated to determine the sound intensity by adjusted the frequency to 3000Hz. The tone generator with the frequency of 3000Hz had a higher reading of sound intensity than the tone generator with the frequency of 2000Hz. Frequency is also one of the factors that affect the sound intensity.
