INTRODUCTION:

Abratech was incorporated in the year 1993 as sole

proprietorship. It is a metal processing unit situated in

Pune, Maharashtra. Mr.Sachin Shah is the proprietor of Abratech. It is an ISO 9001-2008 certified company. It is

manufacturers of bonded abrasive wheels.



Nature of business:

This company is engaged in manufacturing business. It

manufactures all types of abrasive wheels and all types of

abrasive products. They are also distributors in wielding

rods, wielding machines, CO2 wires and all industrial

consumable products.

The company’s range of bonded abrasive wheels includes

non-reinforced cut-off wheels, reinforced cut-off wheels,

depressed centre wheels, segments, straight wheels.



Production Process:

Product layout:

All the products manufactured are of

same nature ,so they use product type of layout in

which machines and equipments are arranged in

sequence. The materials move from one work station

to another successively without any deviation of

material.



Process of grinding wheels:

1) Filtering: Expro is filtered to remove big stones

2) Mixing: Carbon dioxide and Expro are mixed

together to form a mixture.

3) Wheel processor: 14 kilos of mixture are put into

the leveling machine to obtain a uniform level.

4) Pressing: Then the leveled mixture is pressed using

pressing machine.

5) Oven room: 50 units are sent together in the oven

room where it is baked at high temperature.

6) After the above procedure the final products are

checked.

7) After inspection the products are sent for packagingand labeling.

1) No. of workers-

There are 16 workers and 2 supervisors.

2) Backup facility-

Company has power backup facility as it cannot

afford gap in the production process

3) Human resource-

General experienced workers are appointed and

priority is given to local workers.

4) Trade union-

There is no trade union (no. of workers are very

less) .

5) All the required conditions related to workers health

in The Factories Act, 1948 are followed
