2.Blasting in Operation.(Including air blowing/cleaning) Insufficient air for breathing. Air contaminated. (Breathing problem). Improper supply of air.

Ineffective filters. Garnet blasting on body part/ Body injury locking of dead mans device for intermediate inspection. Exposure of dust, noise and injury to workers.

Fire explosion. Use regulator to control supply

Change filter at the advised frequency.

Monitoring the air and ensure good quality of air. Ensure dead mans device is always in good operating condition.

Do not allow workers to play with the sand blasting machine. Make sure sand blasting is done only by trained personnel. Barricade the area to prevent unauthorized entry. Ensure workers involved in blasting are wearing appropriate PPEs.

Ensure Danger Abrasive Blasting in Progress Keep Away and Noise Hazard are posted in the area.

Ensure the blast gun is fitted with Emergency Release Handle (Dead Mans Handle) and it is functional.

Do not left the blasting machine unattended with air supply on. Never allow any spray painting at the location when blasting is in progress. Dedicated Fire watch man shall be posted while blasting is on progress.

3.Changing the position to cover other area. Sand blasting on body part (body injury). Trip/fall Machine remain ON

Locking of dead mans device. Put OFF machine first.

Always keep the dead mans device in good operating condition.

After work completion of work make sure all the equipment & tool are properly taken back to their storage area.

4.Housekeeping. Scattered Materials. Arrange the recovery and safe disposal of spent garnet. Ensure of proper wind up of equipment, tools, and tidiness of the work area.

Required Training.: Safety Orientation; Manual Handling; Hand and Power Tools; Hot Works, Fire Protection and Prevention; Fire Watch Training; JSA and Risk Assessment; Crane and Rigging; Electrical Safety.
