“It's been great, I've learnt to manage cow flow and milking speed through ge ng the backing gates right. Im always in the loop as we have a team meeng every morning and catch up for 10 minutes before ge ng on with the day. Its been great seeing large scale, understanding the cow more though grassland

management and their behaviours. I want to come back, i li love the drive of farmers and farming here.”

- Darina, Clonakilty College, Ireland

“I learnt how NZ pasture-based farming works and have improved my stockmanship skills and grown in

confidence. It has been good living on my own and not relying on others which has taught me new life skills.NZDC helped me out whenever I needed it - I got good support. NZDC organised a great farm for me and helped

with transport and a car purchase.”

- - Robert, Greenmount College, Ireland

“A great bunch! They found me a brilliant farm and made it a fantasc experience from the moment I got off the

plane ll the day I le.

- Mark, Ireland

“I really wish I could stay longer, I can see all of what I'm going to miss out on. The people have really made my

stay on this farm, it has been really good.

The well-being chat was really good. Its somThe well-being chat was really good. Its something my Dad should have looked into years ago. It's really good how farmers here take mental health and safety on farm

seriously.”

- Shay, Kildalton College, Ireland

“I wanted to experience farming on a completely different scale. NZ was the best place to do it. The programme was exactly what it was described as. It was a pathway, one for you to choose – the more you put into going down that path, the more you got out of it. There was always someone to “open the next door when you reached it”. Pastrol Support was very good, at the end of the phone, you had somebodyou had somebody, whatever the me of day. When I wanted to talk to anyone, there was always someone

there.”

- Michael, Northern Ireland

What some people have to say about New Zealand Dairy Careers:

nzdairycareers.co.nz

“As a mum, of a young boy, who was at the other end of the world, it was very difficult not to worry. I can assure you that all my worries were for nothing, as all the staff with NZ Dairy Careers, are absolutely fantasc, they have been there to support both Malcolm & us, his family, the whole me. Just knowing that they are there for us and can be relied on to see things get sorted out and done no

mamaer what the issue is, be it big or small.

We are just so thankful to all the staff at NZ Dairy Careers for being so helpful, understanding of our concerns,

willing to go the extra mile for Malcolm, giving their own me and being there for support no maer what, this

means so much to all of us.”

- Cherie, U.K

“I wanted to learn about the grass side of dairy with the quotas back home and I definitely achieved this. The orientaon programme was top class. Se ng up bank accounts and tax numbers is a huge bonus and

unbelievable benefit when arriving. It was much beer than expected. Food was great, bedding package and

groceries really beneficial as well.

PPastoral support was very good, as there was always someone there, and easy to contact. Advice to others thinking about doing the programme would be to get on

the plane and just do it. You won’t regret it!”

- Stephen, Ireland,
