The sutures are made of glycolic acid and with braided structure. The sutures have some benefits as below, minimal tissue reaction, excellent knot security, predictable strength over the critical wound healing period, and soft passage through the tissues with minimal sawing, tissue drag and traumatism. The absorption of the sutures can complete in approximately 60 to 90 days. The sutures are indicated for use as absorbable sutures in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures.


Plain Catgut is a uniform, firmly twisted strand of collagen made of the serosa layer of bovine intestines. The purified strands, after electronic gauging and polishing, form a virtual monofilament with exceptional handling properties. It is indicated for use in general soft issue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery.

Chromic Catgut has been treated to provide a considerably longer period of absorption than Plain Catgut. The rate of absorption is lowed down by chromic process. It is well beyond critical postoperative period and twice the stitch holding time of Plain Catgut. It is indicated for use in general soft issue approximation and gastrointestinal surgery.

The sutures (clear or pigmented) are inert, nonabsorbable, sterile sutures composed of a crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene. The sutures are pigmented blue to enhance visibility. The sutures are indicated for use in general soft issue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological surgery.

Polyester sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile, surgical sutures composed of polyethylene. The sutures are available uncoated or coated to increase surface lubricity, thereby enhancing handling characteristics, ease of passage through tissue, and knot run-down properties. The sutures are indicated for use in general soft issue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic and neurological surgery.

The sutures are braided, nonabsorbable, sterile, non-mutagenic surgical sutures composed of natural silk fibers called fibroin. The sutures elicit a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective issue. The sutures are indicated for use in general soft issue approximation, including use in microsurgery and neurological surgery.

The sutures are composed of corrosion resistant steel and gamma-ray sterilized. The sutures meet all requirements established by U.S.P and E.P. for nonabsorbable surgical sutures. The sutures are indicated for use in abdominal wound closure, intestinal anastomosis, hernia repair and sternal closure.

Sutures Materials

UNIK has 40-year experience in suture industry and is the only company in Taiwan with a factory to manufacture silk sutures. We focus on markets of Taiwan and China.UNIK has headquarters and own plants in Taiwan. We also had plants in China to support our China business. We set up the China branch office in Beijing in 2001 and now we have around 70 distributors in China. Moreover we set up another new office in Shanghai in the year of 2007.

Unik is a GMP factory approved by the Ministry of Health of Taiwan; Unik also has ISO 13485 certification that conform to the Quali ty Management System Standard. We received CE certificate for non-absorbable and absorbable surgical sutures.

Our sutures are in good qua l i t y with high tensile strength offered at a competitive price. We supply public and private hospitals and clinics in Taiwan. We have been exporting worldwide over the past 20 years, including countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, New Zealand, and China.
