We are the Welsh Conservative Party. We are a part of the wider Conservative and Unionist Party which is led by Boris Johnson. He is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Andrew RT Davies is our candidate to be the next First Minister of Wales. You can vote for us in the Welsh Parliament elections on May 6th.

The Welsh Parliament is also known as Senedd Cymru.

About the Welsh Conservative Party

We have written down all the issues we think are important and would like to tell you about - this is known as a manifesto.

At a Welsh Parliament election you can vote for who you want to become your Member of the Senedd or MS.

There are two types of MS. One that helps a local area which we call a constituency. And one that helps a wider area called a region.

You have one constituency MS and four regional MS.

On the 6th May you have two votes. One for the Constituency MS and one for the regional MS.

A Party wins an election by having the most MS. They can then come together to form the Welsh Government.

The Covid-19 virus has hurt Wales’ public services - such as our hospitals and our schools.

It has also hurt our economy - with people losing their jobs and businesses shutting down.

We have a plan to help people find a new job. We will also pay for new doctors, nurses and teachers to work in our hospitals and schools.

We also think that another Party - the Labour Party, who are in charge at the moment - have not done a good job.

They have been in charge of Wales for more than 20 years.

We don’t think that their ideas are the best way to create more jobs and pay for our hospitals.

We have some key actions that we would do to help people and businesses in Wales.

We would create 65,000 jobs by letting businesses keep more of their own money to pay for staff.

We will build a new motorway off the M4 in Newport and make changes to the A55 in North Wales, the A40 in West Wales and the A470 in Mid Wales to stop cars getting stuck in traffic.

We will build five new hospitals in Wales

We will pay for 1,200 more doctors and 3,000 more nurses to help you when you are sick.

We will put more money into the Welsh NHS each and every year so that can do more to help people when they are ill.

We will make sure that more money is used to help young people to learn so that they can get a job.

We will help young people to learn by putting 5,000 more teachers into schools.

We will build 100,000 new homes over the next 10 years.

We want more people to have the help to buy their own home.

We will also help people to buy houses that need repair to be used again.

We will fight global climate change and work to protect the environment.

We will use Wales’ coastline to create more electricity for everyone.

We will make sure that Wales does not add more bad air to the environment than we take out.

We believe that the best thing for Wales is that we work closely together with Scotland, England and Northern Ireland as part of the United Kingdom.

We do not think that Wales leaving the United Kingdom will help to support people to find a job or to pay for our hospitals and schools.

We want more people to keep their money that they work for. So that they can spend it on what they want to.

We will not increase taxes or create new ones.

We will try to reduce taxes for people in Wales if more people have a job.

We will give more money to local councils so that they do not increase your council tax.
