Dr. Yamada has been working as a professor in the Department ofSocial Systems Engineering at Tottori University, Japan, since 1993. Hereceived his Ph.D. degree from Hiroshima University, Japan, in 1985.He has published numerous technical papers and books in the area ofsoftware reliability engineering, reliability engineering, and statisticalquality. Dr. Yamada received the Best Author Award (1992) from theInformation Processing Society of Japan, the TELECOM SystemTechnology Award (1993) from the Telecommunications AdvancementFoundation, the Best Paper Award (1999) from the ReliabilityEngineering Association of Japan, and the International LeadershipAward in Reliability Engineering Research (2003) from the ICQRIT/SREQOM.
