Our Goal

We intend to be the champion of individual rights for all people with intellectual & developmental disabilities, and will continue to develop programs to sustain this cause.

What We Do

Our support services provide educational and life skills, health and wellness, and social and recreational programs. In addition, we provide much needed respite time for families and caregivers.

Arc & the Arts Programs

Monthly art classes are led by creative and compassionate volunteers. A fulfilling curriculum helps the artists increase self-esteem and gain a strong sense of self-worth. Each artist’s unique perspective of the world is reflected in their works of art.

Adapted Wellness

Fitness classes, such as aerobics, yoga, strength training, and sporting events, are held weekly and include nutrition education for healthy living.

Self-Advocacy & Aktion Club

Monthly Self-Advocacy programs are designed to help Arc clients become independent thinkers. These include educational, cultural, and community service activities which enhance their ability to be involved citizens. The Aktion Club is a service club in partnership with Williamsburg Kiwanis.

Quality of Life

Social and recreational programs give Arc clients the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest within the community.

Resources & Expenses (2012)

86% of Arc income directly supported Arc programming.

37% of Arc Income came from individuals in the form of donations, corporate contributions, Arc memberships, and

fundraising events.

63% of Arc Income came from grants, with the largest grant received from United Way of Greater Williamsburg.
