Established in March 2017, SGCS intends to foster global leaders armed with proper knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and hand-on skills. Specifically, students are provided with world class, multi-disciplinary education program for ‘combined engineering’, ‘business’, and ‘Korean language and culture’ studies in order to foster integrated and empathetic global leaders.

SGcS PROGRAm

SGCS Program intends to provide an interdisciplinary education system. Once the student enter the program, they get a chance to experience the basics of related academics during their first semester. After that, students get to choose their own major between IBT and ISE. As soon as they finish their general education courses (English, Korean) and major courses, they can advance their academic skills and finally work on the fields they are willing to contribute.

SpECIAL proGrAMS

SGCS Korean ProgramSGCS Korean Program is a 2 years course for IBT and ISE

major students. This program is in relation with Korean general

courses and taught by Korean language education experts. The

department expect that the students will gain a high academic

Korean level and even easily adapt to Korea as well as its

culture. In addition, SGCS department will continuously open

extra-curriculum Korean classes for senior students to help

them improve their Korean skills and finally start their career in

Korea.

INHA Phronesis Seminar ProgramINHA Phronesis Seminar is provided to all SGCS freshmen

students. It is a mandatory course that provides useful

information about the campus and academic life. Campus tour,

mentoring session with seniors, lectures for presentation skills

and academic reports will be held. Also there will be a speical

lecture from SGCS faculty to help students choose their majors

and set academic goals. After this program, students can build

a sense of belonging and healthy relationships with each others.

Exchange ProgramINHA Undergraduate students have an opportunity to study

abroad as an exchange student. Students can study and

experience new culture at partner universities for one or two

semesters. Students can apply for the program after spending

more than 5 semesters and fulfilling certain criteria (GPA, English

Score Certificates, and etc). The program itself is managed by

the International Team of INHA Unversity.

STuDEnT ACTIvITIES

INHA SGCS NightThe SGCS Department hosts a special one-day event for the

students to celebrate their academic performances as well as

successful campus lives. Guest lectures, award ceremonies,

recreation activities are given on this day. SGCS Students can

get along with each others and express their gratitudes toward

their faculty.

SGCS Soccer LeagueFirst held in May 2018, SGCS Soccer League will be open for

every semesters. It is one of the biggest student event managed

by the students themselves. Through group activities and

competition, students can get closer with each others regardless

of their nationalities. Also it will help them build global networks.

The Soccer League is officially supported by the SGCS Office.

University Dormitory(1) Facility : Room for four with a shared bathroom, laundry

facility and fitness center, cafeteria

* Dormitory check in date is designated by university, and

it will be informed through emails.

(3) How to pay the dormitory rent

Step 1 : Prepare the exact amount of money in cash

Step 2 : Visit Hana Bank and ask the teller to transfer the money to the payment account

* Note : Sender’s name should be your Korean Name on your Student ID card.

* Students will be fined if they leave the dormitory within 30 days from their check-in date.

Off-Campus HousingInternational Center introduces only studio-type apartments for students who want to occupy a flat before a semester

begins. International Center does not help you to look for apartments other than the ones introduced.

How to Apply : By replying to an email from the international center.

Location : Mostly near the university back gate

How to pay for housing : Payment procedure is the same as that for the dorm. Account info for the payment can be found

on your contract.

* The International Center and SGCS Office will not be able to help you with housing problems. Each student is responsible

for handling issues such as heating/plumbing. If you need assistance, you may ask your ‘Buddy’ or a Korean friend.
