• Magnet Hospital attracting and retaining nursing staff is a

key issue for hospitals. Nursing shortages create a vicious

cycle as staff become over-worked and dissatisfied, and

patient care can suffer accordingly.

A nurse midwife is an RN who has completed additional specialized

education in nurse midwifery.

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

A certified registered nurse anesthetist is an RN with specialized training

in anesthetics.

• Home Health Nurse (HHN)

Home health nurses are RNs who provide periodic services to patients at

home.
