Rukmini Rao BOARD LEVEL ORIENTATION PROGRAM Hyderabad The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) is a non-profit organisa- tion established in 1964, operating from Hyderabad, India. IPE is recognized as a ‘Center of Excellence’ in social science research by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). It is ranked among the top 20 business schools in India and the first among top ten intellectual property. Presently, IPE has a large contingent of faculty, with Ph.D Degrees from Premier National and International Universities. The Institute has an excellent library with a collection of over 50,000 books, around 200 national and international j ournals, and several research reports on public enterprises in India. IPE has affliation with a number of National and International Universities like Erasmus University, Netherlands; Primorska, Slovenia; University Tun Abdul Razak, Kualalumpur; Malaysian Directors Academy; National Foundation for Corporate Governance; Central Universtiy, Rajasthan etc About IPE About NFCG With the goal of promoting better corporate governance practices in India, the Ministry of Corpo- rate Affairs, Government of India, on 1st October 2003 set up National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG) in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Institute of Compa- ny Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In the year 2010, stakeholders in NFCG has been expanded with the inclusion of ICWAI and the National Stock Exchange.NFCG operates from New Delhi, India. Prof. R.K Mishra Dr R K Mishra, is ONGC Subir Raha Chair Professor on Corporate Governance and Senior Professor and Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, India. Professor Mishra is a Ph.D from the University of Rajasthan and a visiting fellow at London Business School, studied for International Teachers programme at SDA Bocconi, Milan. Dr Mishra taught at the University of Bradford, and was a visiting Professor at Maison Des Sciences De L’ Hommes, Paris and Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He is a member of the UN Task Force on International Standards of Excellence in Public Administration and Education. He is Vice President, International Association Schools and Institutes of Administration, Brussels. He is special invite on OECD Working Group on Privatization and Corporate Governance of SOEs and Asian Network of Corporate Governance. He is on the Advisory Panel on Corporate Governance constituted by the Govt of India. He is Non-Executive Director on some public and private enterprise boards in India. He has considerable experience in teaching and guiding research for doctoral degrees in management, economics, public administration and commerce. His areas of interest include Corporate Governance, International Management, International Finance, Public-Private Partner- ship, Restructuring and Environmental Management . Dr N Rukmini Rao Dr. N Rukmini Rao is a seasoned prfessional with around 20 years of managerial & leadership experience in complete spectrum of human resources management. He worked at various levels and was heading HR function of one the listed companies at hyderabad before joining IPE. He has done his Ph.D in corporate governance and studied various governance issues, inudstrywise, nationally and internationally.
