Development Education and Intercultural Education in Initial Teacher Education at Primary Level
The DICE ProjectThe DICE Project promotes and supports the integration of development education and intercultural education in Initial Teacher Education and across relevant areas of the Primary School Curriculum.
Vision
Our vision is of teachers in primary schools teaching good-quality development education and intercultural education, thereby enabling pupils to learn effectively and understand their role as global citizens living in a diverse society and contributing to a just and sustainable world.
Mission
To provide support to five institutions involved in Initial Teacher Education at primary level to utilise, develop and further extend staff capacity and expertise in integrating development education and intercultural education into ITE programmes.
It is envisaged that this initiative will equip student teachers with the necessary knowledge, values and skills to integrate development education and intercultural education in their classroom practice and across the Primary School Curriculum.

Our work includes:
Developing capacity among teacher educators through professional development workshops, briefing sessions and facilitating peer support among staff.
Providing high-quality teaching and learning activities for student teachers, including lectures, seminars and awareness-raising events.
Raising awareness of the value of development education and intercultural education within the Primary School Curriculum among key stakeholders.
Engaging with policymakers, supporting research on development education and intercultural education and developing relevant resources to support teaching and learning.
