The All India Management Association (AIMA) is the national apex body of
the management profession in India. Over the last five decades, AIMA has
contributed immensely to the enhancement of management capability in the
country.
AIMA has a broad base of 65 Local Management Associations including
two cooperating LMAs abroad, with a membership crossing 30,000 in
number. AIMA is a non-lobbying organisation, working closely with Industry,
Government, Academia and students to further the cause of the management
profession in India. AIMA is represented on the Boards of India's premier
Business Institutions like Indian Institute of Management – IIMs. AIMA is
also represented on Boards of Government bodies including the All India
Council for Technical Education, National Board of Accreditation, National
Productivity Council to name a few.
AIMA makes a salutary contribution to management learning and practice
in the country by offering various services in the areas of testing, distance
education, research, publications and management development

AIMA brings to the Indian managers, the best management practices and
techniques through numerous foreign collaborations with professional bodies
and institutions. AIMA is a member of the Asian Association of Management
Organisations (AAMO) and works closely with several international
management institutions like Robert H Smith School of Business at the

Focusing on today's potential for tomorrow's performance, AlMA’s
Management Development Programmes (MDPs) align with AlMA's mission

Global Advanced Management Programme
AIMA has been conducting its flagship Global Advanced Management
Programme (GAMP) in collaboration with international universities of repute.
AIMA has so far organised these programmes in Shanghai, China and in
the United States as well. These programmes are organised by AIMA and
are moderated by faculty from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at
the University of Maryland and the Haas School of Business, University

Chanakya - Management Simulation Programme
‘Chanakya’ is AlMA's Business Management Simulation tool
modeled on the philosophy of ‘learning by doing’; it exposes
participants to a life-like corporate environment where they
deal with business issues related to finance, operations,
marketing etc. Participants run their ‘company’ in a hypothetical
situation and see the impact of their decisions through AlMA's
indigenously developed software. AIMA conducts in-house

Cross Fire - Management Quiz
AIMA offers a range of national level quizzes on management
called 'Cross Fire'; which are conducted for B-school students

to facilitate a copious flow of knowledge and ideas packaged
in exciting rounds, and is an eagerly awaited event by the

Testing Services
TESTAIMA initiated and pioneered several national level tests and evaluation
programmes that are recognised and endorsed by several AICTE approved
management institutions, university departments across the country. AlMA’s
expertise in testing design, development and delivery has also been extended

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
MAT is a well-established evaluation & screening test that is being extensively
used by India's management academia to screen and select candidates for
B-schools. It is the largest test of its kind in India. MAT is designed to assess the
aptitude of the candidates to be a successful management professional. MAT
is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government
of India as a national entrance test and over 600 management institutes/
universities and over 2,50,000 candidates avail it every year.

Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT)
UGAT is a single test to screen quality candidates for
undergraduate programmes which in turn orients the candidates
in pursuing MBA or other professional programmes in a more
focused manner. UGAT has been designed and administered at
national/international level with an objective of supporting 10+2
students for admission to bachelor programmes i.e. integrated
MBA, BBA, BCA, BHM etc.
Research Management Aptitude Test (RMAT)
RMAT is a test designed to screen candidates for the AIMA

and Aligarh Muslim University joint PhD programme. This test
is conducted twice a year across the country.

PGDM: The Flagship Programme to Accelerate Career Growth
AlMA's Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is one of its most

PGDITM
AIMA’s Post Graduate Diploma in IT Management (PGDITM)
is recognised by the AICTE and UGC (DEB), Ministry of HRD,
Government of India. This programme aims at developing IT
professionals to be fully equipped with the knowledge and
competencies required for a variety of roles like CIO, Business
Analyst etc.
PGCM
Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) is designed
for both working candidates as well as fresh college pass-

PhD: To Position Careers in Teaching, Consulting and Research
AIMA also conducts a PhD programme in Business
Administration in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University.

the programme is conducted by AIMA.
Professional Diploma in Public Procurement
AIMA in collaboration with the World Bank has taken an
initiative to offer Professional Diploma in Public Procurement.
The programme will help in promoting professionalisation of
public procurement in the country.
Customised In-Company Programmes
The distance learning mode of AIMA's Management
programmes have an ‘ln-company version’ for upgrading
skills and competencies of working professionals for their
career enhancement. Curriculum, pedagogy and delivery
of these programmes coupled with virtual class rooms have
been primarily designed to meet the requirements of working
professionals. These can be further customised to meet the

THINKAIMA continues to be at the forefront in driving industry and academic based
research, surveys and reports. Carefully identified and defined research
projects are carried out by AIMA.
Research and Development
Research and development is one of the key focus areas of AIMA. With an
objective to unleash new potential in individuals and organisations, AIMA
conducts research and consultancy in various facets of management.
These researches mainly cater to corporate and academic needs. Faculty

AIMA Management Capability Index
As pioneers in management thought leadership, AIMA initiated
an innovative study on the management practices of corporate
India in 2010 to gauge the robustness and competitiveness of
business performance for corporates and institutions operating
in India. MCI is an international index, being promoted by the
Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO). The
index which originated in New Zealand has now been adopted
by India, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
The AIMA MCI India Report endeavours to explore how the
management practices of companies in India fare in the global
context and what are the key areas of improvements that
managers and business leaders need to be thinking about in
the rapidly changing business environment. The survey covers
10 parameters, including, visionary & strategic leadership,
performance leadership, people leadership and organisational
capability among other factors. This survey is conducted
annually by AIMA.
Perception Survey
‘Indian Economic Outlook - A Perception Survey’ commissioned
by AIMA, aims at monitoring the economic and financial
wellness of the country. The last nationwide survey covered
450 corporate heads in 8 metro and semi metro cities and
highlighted the voice of the middle management of corporate
India.
Journals
The online journal of Management and Research is an online
repository of research articles, case studies, book reviews
and bibliographies. This e-journal was launched in 2007 and
is released quarterly every year covering several issues on
contemporary topics. AIMA has also released a compilation of
research articles on 'Globalising India: Role of Indian B-School'
recently.

AIMA works closely with a number of overseas professional institutions and
has expanded its international portfolio over the years. AIMA is an active
member of the Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO). The
current 17 members of AAMO include Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India,
Japan, South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mongolia, Nepal, New
Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Taiwan.
Global Business Leaders Series
AIMA has initiated a series of Global Business Leaders Summits to examine
and facilitate intra-emerging market business strategies. The summit provides
a platform to the business and policy leaders to debate the management
approaches and capabilities to capitalise on this trend. The inaugural event
of the series was held in Mauritius in May 2012 with several international
companies participating in the event.

International Associations
In order to facilitate the interaction between management
professionals of India and Pakistan, AIMA has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with the Management
Association of Pakistan.
AIMA also works with Nutshell Forum, with a mutual desire
of developing a strong partnership between the management
fraternity of India and Pakistan. Both organisations are actively
leveraging resources to promote and develop the management
profession in both countries and are regularly participating in
each other's flagship events by sending speakers/experts and
delegations.
AIMA is the India partner of the St. Gallen Symposium,
Switzerland. The St. Gallen Symposium is an annual conference
that aims to stimulate thought and action for sustained success
of companies and societies in a globalised world. It brings
together 600 high-profile decision makers from all over the
world and 200 of the most talented students from over more
than 60 nations.
AIMA annually participates at the St. Gallen Symposium with a
high profile delegation from India. AIMA has also collaborated
with the St. Gallen Symposium to establish an international
conference in India. This conference is addressed by senior
leaders and CEOs from India and Europe.

AIMA has been actively supporting Horasis who host an annual
India Conference, to advance solutions to the most critical
challenges facing corporations today. AIMA is one of the co-
organisers of the Global India Business Meetings organised by
Horasis which have been held in Liverpool, Antwerp, Belgium,
Munich, Germany, Madrid, Spain and Naples. These meetings
comprise several panel discussions on subjects concerning
India's growing engagement with the global economy. AIMA
was also the co-organiser of the Arab Business Meeting held in
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE and the Russia Business Meeting held
in Cyprus. Besides being a co-organiser, AIMA also contributes
many high profile speakers to the panel discussions at these
events.

AFFILIATEOver the past five decades AIMA has played the role of a catalyst in the
evolution of a new management ethos and its contribution has been widely
acknowledged. AIMA and its 65 affiliated Local Management Associations
(LMAs) across India and overseas have the support of over 3000 institutional
members and over 30,000 individual members.
