CLUE #1 In 1619, 20 slaves naked and in chains arrive in a Dutch Man of Warre (ship).
CLUE #2 In 1793, This invention led to an increase in cotton production which led to an increase in slave labor.
CLUE #3 In 1820, This black preacher led a rebellion to free slaves. Eventually he was caught and hanged.

In 1831, The abolitionist newspaper, The Liberator, was published by this abolitionist. In 1835, a white angry mob of northerners attacked and attempted to hang him.
CLUE #5 In 1820, This compromise stated
that no slavery could be established above the 36th parallel. Missouri
entered the union as a slave state and Maine entered as a free state.
CLUE #6 In 1849, This runaway slave was a conductor on the Underground RR. She was called the Moses of her people.
CLUE #7 This law enabled slave catchers to take any black person (including free blacks) back to the south. Many northerners were outraged. Many slave catchers were thieves.
