Licensed Professionals in Psychology

• The career of a Psychiatrist begins with medical school for four years• Once medical school is complete a four year

residency in behavioral health is next• A license is presented upon completion of

residency • A Psychiatrist has a license to practice medicine

Licensed Professionals in Psychology

• Must complete five to seven years of graduate study• Obtain a Doctorate (Ph.D or Psy.D) in order to be

licensed and certified within the state one is planning to practice in.• Can be certified by a number of reputable boards and

associations• ABFP The American Board of Forensic Psychologist• ABPP The American Board of Professional Psychology• ACSW Academy of Certified Social Workers License
