Kit components may now be serial or lot tracked

Kit products may now have serial or lot numbers in both the parent kit and/or the components. Examples are mobile phones which have serial IMEI numbers, foods made from lot numbered ingredients, etc.

• If the parent product is serial or lot number tracked then ABM assumes that the kit is being stocked prior to sale. In other words, users can view the parent and assemble the kits and, at that time, can specify the serial/lot numbers of any components and also the new serial number assigned to each parent product. When the parent is sold, only the serial number(s) of the parent will be requested.

• If the parent product is not serial or lot tracked then ABM assumes that the kit is

not being stocked prior to sale. When the parent is sold, the serial number(s) of all relevant components will be requested. The kit cannot be pre-assembled and stocked because, having no serial number, there is no way of knowing which serialized components each parent product contains at the later time of sale.

Kits without serial or lot numbers work the same way as before.

The Suggest Purchase Order Improvements

The “Suggest Order” facility in purchasing now recognises the supplier’s purchase unit of measure and minimum purchase quantity and calculates accordingly.

More Improvements

A new switch “DateBackAlwaysOK” stops ABM asking if transactions dated in a prior period are to be posted in that period and assumes that the answer is always “Yes”.

Another new switch “NoBankMatching” causes ABM to not attempt to match transactions which are imported on bank statements. This is for users who have a large number of identical transactions; for example subscription companies.

When looking at the lists of accounts, customers, etc. and you click on the “Find” button, ABM now defaults to the text you searched for in the previous search of that list. This is to be consistent with most other Windows programs.

The “Find any Text” in the Advanced Find facility now searches custom fields as well.

And more …

Users are now warned if they attempt to over-allocate receipts or payments When voiding receipts and payments in prior periods, the user now has the

option to post the automatic reversing transaction in that same period rather than in the current period. This is very useful when finalising accounts in a prior period.

Foreign currency sales orders can now be imported. The importing of supplier price lists now handles multiple suppliers per

product. Reverse VAT can now be applied to retention invoices in Ireland Users can now specify non-standard terms on individual purchases, just as

they have been able to on sales. Users can now reserve stock or incoming purchase orders for use on

specified jobs.
