Paint stripping management

Paint stripping management at ABL-TECHNIC means that throughout the world you receive all the paint removal services you require quickly, flexibly and in the highest quality. We strip paint from incorrectly coated parts, such as aluminium wheels, and from painting aids, such as hangers, skids or gratings. And the services and methods we offer are comprehensive:

Chemical stripping of incorrectly coated aluminium wheels

Chemical stripping

Chemical stripping is particularly suitable for temperature-sensitive parts and painting aids. In our state-of-the-art installations, the components to be stripped are immersed in heated baths for between three and twelve hours. Any paint residue remaining is then removed with high-pressure water and the parts are passivated in order to protect them. The methods we use are alkaline, acid and solvent stripping.

Typical parts: Hangers, aluminium wheels, steel cables, hooks, steel sheets, galvanised compo-nents, magnets, springs

Temperature: 75° C – 150° C

Thermal stripping in pyrolysis furnaces

Thermal stripping

Thermal stripping is suitable for heavily coated painting aids, and parts which are not temperature-sensitive. The compo-nents are stripped in pyrolysis furnaces at temperatures of up to 430°C, depending on the material the parts are made of and their level of coating. Our installations are highly efficient and operate with an innovative method of heat recovery, while cleansing the exhaust gas by afterburning. As after-treatment, the parts are blasted or treated chemically, freed of rust, and then passivated.

In-house stripping as an innovative solutionHigh-pressure-water installation

High-pressure-water stripping In-house solutions

High-pressure-water stripping removes coatings thoroughly from painting aids such as gratings, but also from special parts, with water pressure of up to 3,500 bar. This method of paint stripping is not only extremely fast, it is also environ-mentally friendly: the process water is treated in our own, specially developed, waste water installations and then re-turned to the water cycle, so conserving resources.For high-pressure-water stripping, we have both free-jet cabinets and conveyorised systems at our disposal.

Typical parts: Gratings, paint skids, and parts which cannot be thermally or chemically stripped because of their geometry or the material they are made of

Water pressure: 1,400 to 3,500 bar

As an alternative to classic contract paint removal, ABL-TECHNIC has made a special service available worldwide: paint stripping in your own company as a special outsourcing model. We install a paint removal system at your site – an “in-house solution” – specifically adapted to the items to be stripped. Paint stripping and after-treatment take place in enclosed modules and are carried out by our employees.

Logistics at ABL-TECHNIC

Repair and realignment work

Painting aids, such as hooks, gratings or paint skids, are often damaged during painting. This damage becomes particularly visible after they have been stripped.If desired, ABL-TECHNIC offers repair and realignment work: the parts are checked for functionality, and repaired or replaced if necessary. The quality of the work we carry out enables our customers to incorporate the parts in their production processes without any further checks. It is also possible to store spare and replacement parts with us.

With more than 35 years of experience in paint stripping and our own workshops, we also have extensive know-how in the production of process parts and painting aids. Our portfolio comprises:

Consultancy on optimised deployment of process parts and painting aids

Construction and production of customer-specific paint skids, stripping boxes, painting racks, transport racks, dollies and product carriers

Procurement of further painting aids, such as gratings and hooks

Logistics

Rack, box and hanger construction

ABL-TECHNIC’s logistics processes are geared towards speed, reliability and flexibility.We have central logistics planning, our own fleet of vehicles, numerous production plants throughout the world, and full order tracking. We also offer storage facilities for our custom-ers’ production aids as required. If desired, we pick up the

items to be stripped from directly defined points in the pro-duction area, and transport them to the nearest ABL-TECHNIC plant. Problem-free return transport with “just-in-time” delivery is carried out in the same way.

Recovery of valuable materials

As an environmentally aware, certified waste management company, ABL-TECHNIC also specialises in the recovery of important valuable materials. In our state-of-the art installations, we recover metals and precious metals from components or machines which have been disposed of, such as copper from motors or generators. Recovery enables important raw materials to be used again and promotes the sustainability of resources.

In order to recover metals from metal / rubber connections efficiently, ABL-TECHNIC carries out rubber removal in thermal installations. The rubber/steel connections of vibration damp-ers, drive bearings or engine and ship couplings, for example, are separated thoroughly. Rubber removal is suitable both for environmentally friendly waste disposal, and for rejected parts which can then be quickly returned to the production process.

Grease removal Waste disposal

In certain production processes, surfaces may be greasy – and this may impair further processing. Grease, oil or abrasive paste on sheet-metal parts, for example, prevents paint from adhering. ABL-TECHNIC offers grease removal in chemical spraying installations to ensure that parts become impeccably clean. The solvents used are both environmentally compatible and gentle on the parts.

ABL-TECHNIC has been certified as a “Specialized Waste Management Company” in accordance with German waste law. We offer professional and environmentally friendly disposal of contaminated parts, installation components or entire installations, for example. We meet all the legal requirements and ensure the best possible avoidance of environmental pollution.

We also develop and deploy innovative waste disposal methods. For example, at ABL-TECHNIC, the process water from paint stripping is treated in our own, specially developed, waste water installations and then returned to the water cycle in order to conserve resources.

Development

We face the challenge of stripping many different types of parts at a lower cost, in a shorter time and with even better quality on a daily basis. This is why there is a team of 10 technical staff at ABL-TECHNIC who are responsible for continuous improvements and new developments.

Constant improvement is a tradition at ABL-TECHNIC: since the company was founded more than 35 years ago, we have been consistently developing optimised installations, new stripping media and improved paint removal methods which we adopt in our plants throughout the world to the advantage of our customers. These enable us to strip paint quickly, economically and in an environmentally friendly way, and prepare us perfectly for processing highly diverse components.

Quality and environmental management

ABL-TECHNIC operates an integrated management system and is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 (quality management) and DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management). Our management system is uniform in all our plants throughout the world and is verified annually by external audits. We also maintain a continuous improvement process and train our employees on a regular basis.

In the area of environmental management, we actively develop new, environmentally friendly methods: for example, we refrain from using polychlorinated solvents (CHCs) worldwide, as these cannot be disposed of in a way that is kind to the environment. Instead, we deploy specially developed formulas from high-boiling organic compounds which we recycle without leaving any residue. We also take responsibility for treating our waste water ourselves, using our specially developed waste water systems, amongst others.
