About The Ability Am:Formerly known as the PenAm, The Ability Am Golf Tournament raises awareness and funds for VersAbilitys programs that help individuals with disabilities live, work, and thrive in our community. The championship golf course at Cedar Point is the setting for this handicapped, co-ed, best ball tournament comprised of four person teams and a play your own ball format. Golfers will enjoy Cedar Points challenging course and immaculate greens.

About the 19th Hole Cocktail Reception and Award Ceremony: The public is invited to join us for the 19th Hole Cocktail Reception and Awards Ceremony. This event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes Cedar Points delicious dinner buffet, acoustic music, and cash bars. The Awards Ceremony will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. All golfers receive complimentary tickets to the event and additional tickets can be purchased for $35. About VersAbility Resources: VersAbility Resources has been supporting people with disabilities for over 60 years. VersAbility is a comprehensive provider, serving nearly 1,400 people with disabilities in employment, day support, community living, and early childhood programs. VersAbilitys service area extends from the Virginia Peninsula and the Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck to the Southside. VersAbility has offices in Hampton, Newport News, Gloucester, and Norfolk and, through success in government contracts, has created jobs for over 250 people with disabilities across the country.

What you give: Proceeds from The Ability Am benefit people with disabilities served by VersAbility Resources. Your support allows 31 individuals with disabilities to work and receive services in our community as part of the Employment Services Program at VersAbility. Funding for the program was completely eliminated and VersAbility must now raise significant funds to ensure nobody loses access to the services they depend upon. Many people in the program have received supports at VersAbility for decades, some for over 48 years. In addition to the pride and independence that comes from earning their own wages, work allows people with disabilities to improve their overall health by engaging in ongoing physical activity and regular social interaction.
