Warehouse Management SystemMore Efficiency and Safety for the Entire Order Flow

PMS-W generates both the orders for storing and retrieving goods as well as their commissioning. In addition, it also features functions for order pro-cessing, stock management and inventory, as well as administration of articles, storage areas and loading devices as well as their master data.

It supports automatic high-bay warehouses and automatic small-parts warehouses as well as manually operated warehouses with forklift guiding system (PMS-Forklift) or manual picking via

scanner. It is suitable for large distribution centers, as well as for shipping, spare part and production storages.

Manually operated warehouses can also be man-aged (PMS-Mobile) and shipping labels can be generated (PMS-Freight). For quick monitoring of warehouse-relevant data, the PMS-App (iOS) can be integrated in the system.

Incoming goodsPMS-W receives corresponding delivery notifi-cations through the connected HOST system. In the incoming goods department, the incoming deliveries are recorded and checked against the notifications, thus making a transparent overview possible at any time.

StorageIn the PMS-W different strategies can be chosen for storing goods, e. g. chaotic storage, fixed location, even distribution of articles within the warehouse etc. The management of different automatic and manual warehouses with single-, double-, triple- and quadruple-deep storage is also possible, as well as the management of shuttle systems.

Shipping / CommissioningFor commissioning or shipping goods, the HOST system transfers corresponding orders to PMS-W. The system splits these orders to individual commissioning processes and controls the picker and the system.

Inventory-takingDifferent procedures, e. g. annual inventory, per-manent inventory, low stock check and zero stock check are available for the inventory process.

PMS-W offers a multitude of functionalities start-ing from the management of orders, master data and users as well as route and tour management up to the connection of modules for special customer requirements.

Interfaces

PMS-W has different standard interfaces to ERP systems (e. g. SAP, ABAS, MS Dynamics …). This is where the tech nologies attuned to the re-spective project (e. g. IDOC, telegram via TCP/IP, database link). Towards underlying control systems Aberle standard telegrams are sent via TCP/IP. This standard is individually adjusted according to project requirements.

PMS-App Cockpit overview for iPadIn addition to the implemented standard information, special information can be individually integrated at any time. There are hardly any limits; all data that can be polled in the PMS can also be prompted by the PMS-App.

PMS-Mobile Mobile data capturingPMS-Mobile makes it possible, to manage manual storages, to carry out pallet commissioning or inventory-taking, an ideal module for all systems and warehouses with manual process steps.

PMS-ForkliftForklift guiding systemPMS-Forklift is for efficient routing of forklift trucks and other industrial trucks within the storage area. With its different terminal functions, this module can be used to support, for example order-picking, receiving of goods or inventory.

PMS-FreightGeneration of shipping labelsThe standard version already includes over 140 freight carriers for numerous countries and transport tasks. Additional freight-carriers can be included individually for each customer. PMS-Freight includes a direct online connection to the freight-carrier for the transmission of shipment data, scanning of loaded items and correspond-ing transfer documents.

The main content of any material flow planning and control is structuring all movements of materi-als, as well as the communication with all kinds of components. The central component is PMS-M. It is adjusted to the individual requirements of the customer and controls all forms of conveyor systems and automatic storage and retrieval machines etc.

It optimizes the material flow on the conveyor system and the routes of storage and retrieval machines. If a facility component in a system malfunction, the transports will be routed around this area. Based on the following functions, PMS-M ensures a constantly high transport rate in the material flow.

Material Flow ManagementOptimized Material Flow Control for Fully Automated Conveyor Technology Systems

PMS-M takes over transport orders from an overlying system and splits them in an automat-ed process into individual orders for the different system components.

PMS-M monitors material flow in the system and flexibly coordinates the optimized routing of storage and retrieval devices, automatic cranes and transfer cars.

Reporting point methodMaterial flow is divided into reporting points:• The PLC signs on to the PMS-M

at reporting points• Based on the current situation,

the PMS-M calculates the optimal route and defines the next target destination

• The PLC only saves the next target, thus guaranteeing safe restart behavior

• Communication data are shown in detail

Transport ordersAll transport orders, e. g. retrieval orders of the stacker cranes, are managed in a pool. This makes it possible to select a particular order. The degree of order execution can also be monitored this way.

InterfacesPMS-M has different standard interfaces to the warehouse management system / overly-ing system (e. g. SAP, ABAS, MS Dynamics …). Here technologies are used which fit the project situation (e. g. IDOC, telegram via TCP/IP, database link). Towards underlying con-trols, Aberle standard telegrams are sent via TCP/IP. Transport unitsThe administration of transport units in a pool makes it possible to select a specified transport unit. The last, current and next reporting point on its route can also be shown for the respective transport unit.

System environmentPMS-M has been developed for modern server systems. The program runs on Microsoft Windows Server; the PMS client runs on the Windows Client system. A high-performance database by Oracle or MS-SQL Server operates in the background.
