In 1979 he shared the Nobel Prize for physics with two other scientists for their independent development of a theory unifying the electromagnetic and the weak nuclear forces. Born in Pakistan he established the international center for theoretical physics (ICTP) at Triest Italy, a knowledge hub for the scientists around the globe in the area of Physics and mathematics.
