Powered Hoists

Easy and fast to operate, lightweight for simple handling, but rugged for reliable duty. Compact and portable, these hoists fit into and operate easily even in close-clearance work spaces. The design features a multiple-planetary drive/backstop-clutch assembled on the center shaft of a steel gearcase with full-length internal teeth. Chain Binder Type Transformer GinA versatile tool for hoisting distribution transformers and apparatus up the structure. Available with a standard base or 5” extended base. The standard base unit is for mounting on clear pole sections and the 5” extended base model allows mounting to bridge up to 4” x 5” crossarms. Gins are not intended for applications involving side pull on the hoist line, or with the lift load in a tagged out position.

Similar to the chain binder type transormer gin, but with a strap-type ratchet-action mounting mechanism. The 2”-wide polyester strap comes in 44” length to fit most structures. The strap also has a 10,000-lb. rated tensile strength. Wide handle opening on rapid-action ratchet permits easy opera-tion, even with rubber gloves and leather protectors.

Conductor Support EquipmentThe Epoxiglas® extension arm is designed for use on voltages up to and including 15kV where reconduction or insulator replacement is necessary. The extension arm is suspended under the crossarm by brackets to enable the conductor to be removed from the original crossarm and placed in the wireholder mounted on the Epoxiglas exten-sion arm.
