The item covers the following services:

Preventive mainteance of earth pit invoving cleaning of earthpit and surrounding area , removing rust , replacement /tightning of nuts and bolts , Painting of earth pit, Marking ofresults , marking of test date and next due date, necessarytreatment of the earth pit to improve the value of the earthpitlimiting to maximum 2 ohm , cleaning of the area aftercompletion of the job ; removing scrap materials from job siteto scrap yard as per direction of engineer in charge.

Reconditioning of existing earth pit by digging out the oldchrcoal and GI electrode and cleaning the electrode of rust andreinstall it in the same earth pit filled with filling compound,connection , commissioning and testing of the same as perdirection of EIC.

Contractor's Supervisor responsibilities are as follows:

Supervision of the activities and safety aspects.5. Filling up the test records and getting signed by the AreaEngineers.6. Record updation in daily basis.7. Intimation to Area Engineer regarding materialrequirement in advance.8. Preparation of Material reconciliation statement in monthlybasis.9. Withdrawal of material from store.

Contractor has to provide all other necessary support forsmooth maintenance and measurement of the Earth pit as perdirection of E-I-C..
