Rev.date Page: Of: General 02 11.12.02 3 14 1 GENERAL 1.1 Requirements and Information 1.1.1 Scope This specification sets down the minimum requirements for piping and valves, which are to be used on existing and new topside installations, risers, process and utility systems for the Ekofisk Field. 1.1.2 Systems Excluded a) Instrument and control piping downstream of last piping isolating valve. b) Sub-sea pipelines and valves. c) Wellhead valves and equipment. d) Flexible Hoses. e) Plumbing equipment and taps for "domestic" use. 1.1.3 Regulations, Codes, Standards and References All piping components specified shall be in accordance with all applicable sections of the latest editions of the following codes, standards, regulations and Company specifications. The individual sheets in this document will be revised separately with their own revision identity different from the front page. To monitor which individual sheet revision is part of the overall revision (front-page revision) the following system is applied and maintained: - The "Section Overview" which is in front of Section 1 lists a revision status of each individual section. The "Section Overview" sheet carries the same revision as the overall revision on the front page. - In front of each section a revision status is listed for each individual data sheet of the section. The revision of the section is carried by the revision status sheet for each section. By this means the individual sections and sheets are revised individually, and at the same time maintaining the overall revision status. This enables sections and sheets to be used individually within the full document. Note that the EDS's and VSK's are each intended for dedicated types of specifications as described below. Deviations exist however, and specified requirements expected to be found in one type of data sheet may be listed in another type. 1.4.2 SC - Service Code These data sheets briefly list the services, which the different piping classes are intended for. The identification of the data sheet is by the prefix "E" for Ekofisk. General requirements or information are also included. The services listed are general. The intention is that it should be used for selection of piping classes. The services listed are not "all inclusive" which means that the piping class may be used for other services. Detailed project services are listed in section 1.5 Service Class Summary. 1.4.3 PCS - Piping Class Sheet These sheets are the main data sheets, which refers to all specifications required for the piping and valve components. The references are either national/international standards or additional requirements defined by this standard. (a) Piping Class Identity (e.g. AC01): The characters in the piping class have the following meaning: 1st character - pressure rating: A = 150 lb ASME B16.5 B = 300 lb ASME B16.5 C = 400 lb ASME B16.5 (not used) D = 600 lb ASME B16.5 E = 900 lb ASME B16.5 F = 1500 lb ASME B16.5 G = 2500 lb ASME B16.5 H = 2000 psi API I = 3000 psi SAE Code 61 J = 5000 psi API L = 6000 psi SAE Code 62 K = 10000 psi API / SAE Code 62 R = 800 psi (Valves < 2") 2nd character - material as defined in the MDS section. 3rd and 4th character - sequential number 5th character (when used) - this character is reserved for certain applications: X, Y, Z = Special applications

Doc. No KE-P-T-008 ; Piping Detail Standard.) f) Flow Check g) Flow Control The valve selection manual shall be used for valve selection in the development of P&ID's. 1.4.6 VDS - Valve Data Sheet This is a data sheet for specification of valves. Equivalent to the piping class sheet, these are the main data sheets for the valves, and they give references to other data sheets (e.g. VSK & MDS) to cover the full specification for the valve.

Material specification for each single element is given in the VDS.

Following the "TEXT ID" is the latest revision date for the text unit. The VSK itself has its own revision number and date. 1.4.8 MDS - Material Data Sheets This data sheet lists specified material properties and special requirements. The MDS's are referred to from the PCS and VDS. More than one material standard may be listed in the MDS. In this case the standard referenced in the column "MATERIAL NAME" in the PCS and "MATERIAL" in the VDS shall be selected. For listed material without MDS reference Standard material shall be used. (a) Material Data Sheet Identity (e.g. C-01): The data sheet identity has the following meaning: 1st character - material type identity: C = Carbon steel D = Duplex stainless steel G = Galvanised Carbon steel N = Nickel Alloys P = Plastic and glass fibre reinforced plastic pipes (GRP) R = 6Mo stainless steel S = Stainless steel (type AISI 316) T = Titanium V = Alloy steels, low temperature grades ( f.ex. 3.5 Ni Steels) X = Alloy steels Z = Hardfacing and overlay welding 2nd, 3rd and 4th character - sequential number
