Access Abacus Workspace

Abacus WorkSpace is our next generation Point of Sales that meets your unique business needs today, and

into the future. All Abacus Whiz users will be upgrade by batch to our new Point of Sales – Abacus

WorkSpace by the end of 2013. After installation, Abacus WorkSpace icon will display on desktop as

below.

Note: you may require sign in twice.

1st Sign in is used for download Red Apps.

2nd Sign in is used for access Abacus WorkSpace classical mode.

After double click the icon, system will prompt out a box which you can select Abacus WorkSpace or

Whiz.

A Sign in box will appear. You may require entering your password. System will check and download the

applicable apps to your Abacus WorkSpace at the 1st sign in.


Upon first time sign-in to Abacus and/or current passcode has been used for 90 days. You will receive

below prompt message:

You can input your new passcode and confirm new password. The host sign in password will be updated at

the same time.

Terminal Address

There are two ways for you to find out the Terminal Address

a. Use the menu option View Connection Details b. The bottom of command view


Sign In / Sign Out

All existing host sign in code and password you are using in Whiz are remain unchanged. Please sign in

with your current sign in code and password to access Abacus Workspace.

You can switch to other working area by command (e.g. ¤ B) or just one click.

Change Passcode

To change your passcode, input your current passcode, tab to the new passcode field, input your new

passcode and enter. You will be signed into the Abacus system and your passcode will be changed. See

the Sign-In Mask below to become familiar with the fields.

Note: Password change requirements:

Password must contain a combination of seven or eight alphanumeric characters.

E.g. “ABCDEF1” or “1234567A”.

You can use any numeric and alpha characters used except for Q and Z.

No more than three repeating characters allowed. E.g. ABCD888

You cannot reuse last four password.

Reservation and Ticketing

Highlight: All host entries remain unchanged. You can use all entries in command view to finish the booking

as well.

In Abacus Workspace, some keys functions have been changed as below

A Menu mask will rename as Red Apps.

In Abacus WorkSpace, you may use copy and paste instead of moving the cursor to previous entry

and enter.

Graphical View

Graphical View can enhance productivity with a full suite of GDS functionality on Air, Car, Hotel, Email

schedule with a simplified Graphical Workflow.

Go to Graphical View:

Click “Graphical View”


Select “New Reservation” for create PNR then click “OK”

Fill in the requested data (* are mandatory) into the box.

Air result Then, an air result table will be display. The table will show travelling date/time, 26 booking classes and

12lines. Moreover, air result table capability that quickly enables to you to not only search by current date

but also provide more date and return flight availability

Email flight information to customer

You can email the below flight information to your customer.

After ticking the box, you may select the flights which send to customers.

You may click Save Draft. The draft will store into Email proposal. (see P.20)

Trip Composer It will store your selection as trip composer. You can shop all selection, then select the best options and send

to your customer.

Trip Composer not only used in Air selection but also able used in Hotel and Car.

Email Proposal

Email proposal will store all draft and sent message. You may review or open messages which you

saved in email proposal.

Step 1: You can click Email Proposal for review the messages.

Step 2: Email proposal panel will prompt out. You can select drafts or sent massage.

For example: select Drafts’ message

Step 3: Then, select and click on your message

Step 4: Click “open”


Step 5: The selected message will display.

After sell round trip, Click “PNR” continues the booking.

You can click “Traveler Details” for input name, phone, ticketing, Remarks and received field without

any commands.

You can select the following options

E/ET & ER : System will perform E,ET or ER in host according to your selection

I & IR : System will perform “I” or “IR” in host according to your selection

Save : Save your current modification to PNR without end transaction


PNR can be validated at both graphical view and command view. When you return to command view by

clicking “Area A” then display PNR as below.

Air Shopping A Powerful Shopping Tool for you easily searches the lowest fare with availability checking.

Step 1: Choose “LOW FARE SEARCH”.


Step 2: Fill in the requested data (* are mandatory) into the box.

Notes: 1. Flight information (destinations, travel date, carriers etc.). * are mandatory

2. You can select Arrival/departure date

Arrival: system will search flights which arrive on request date

Departure: system will search flights which departure on your requested date

3. Option selected will display 7 days availability in Calendar View.

5. After enter all information, you can click “Search”


Calendar View Then, a fare calendar will display. The lowest fare will be displayed according to departure date and return

date with availability search. Lowest fare search capability that quickly enables you to not only present

customers the best fare options but also provide details with a single glance.

Example: In the below example, you may easily found out the fare departure on 18Mar and return on 25Mar is lower than the original selected date.

System will show the air result table. The table will show travelling date/time, booking class, fare type and

the total fare (included tax) etc. Moreover, you can email the below flight information or fare details to your

customer.

Hotel Reservation Host hotel reservation command remains unchanged. Besides host command, we also provide hotel

reservation in Graphical View. No entries require just few clicks to complete shop & book.

Car Reservation Host car reservation command remains unchanged. Besides host command, we also provide car

reservation in Graphical View. No entries require, just few clicks to complete shop & book.

VirtuallyThere Panel VirtuallyThere Panel is an easy tool which can select email content, hide fare details, hide booking class,

select language and add remarks etc. Moreover, it is no any command required.

There are 2 ways to go to VirtuallyThere Panel

Scribe script

Scribe script is a tool which includes APIS/ Child and Infant/ FOID/ OSI functions to assist you at work in

different categories. You can fill in all traveler info and press enter. It will automatically converted into

entries and reflected in the Host screen.

APIS script APIS script offers you the easy-to-use feature on entering APIS information via PNR creation, which will

increase your productivity and efficiency.

Red App Menu mask has renamed into Red app. You can find Whiz popular mask and power suite red app in AWS.

They can assist you at work in different parts.

New features of Red App

1. Reissuance Red App

It maintains reissuance mask function. The workflow is same as Whiz mask.

Now, it supports reissuance from MCO and one page design. You can view all items more clearly.

ETPIT maintains its own function. You may customize your user profile in email setting. e.g. Consultant

name, Office operation hour, agency address and remarks.

New Enhancements Point and Click

Point and Click is a tool which can sell the pasted availability display, connecting flights and support in

general & direct access availability. It provides a faster and user friendly way to create PNR.

Copy and Paste

In Abacus WorkSpace, you can copy the host response as text.

Example:

Block mode

In Abacus WorkSpce, you can choose block mode or line wrap mode. Block mode is more user friendly to

copy schedule for customer.

Quick & PF Keys

Whiz Programmable key will replace by Quick & PF keys.

There are 2 ways to access Quick & PF keys

a. Go to Tools > Quick & PF keys

b. Go to Helper Apps > Quick & PF keys

Graphical Seat Map

Graphical Seat map is easier to read and identify facilities. You can retrieve seat map of every carrier in

itinerary with a single command. It is provide for IMAP & IPRS carriers (Ref to Y/AAI/PRS)

according to your preference.

Screen View Setting

Screen View setting is used for single working area only. The setting apply on current working area. It is flexible for you to customize each working area.

Screen layout is applying for all working area, you may switch to other working area within the divided

Command line enable you to display all previos entry clearly.

1. Choose View > Command Line

Command line will show on the screen top. You can enter the comman on the line.

Memo Area

Memo area help you mark/paste your important data, message or system response. Open Memo Area: View > Memo Area

Abacus System Setting

You may setup your personal setting in Abacus System. Examples include: Accumulated response, bold font, Point & Click highlighting and tool tips, Graphical Seat Map, cursor type, etc Customize the setting: Tools > Options > Abacus System

1. Bold font can mark the wording being thick. Unclick Bold font Click Bold font

When Highlighting is selected, point and click-able items will be highlighted in a different colored text. e.g – Blue by default)
