Grant Extensions• If you plan to spend your AB86 planning funds by June

30, 2015 – you do not need to file for an extension.• If you have carryover /leftover funds after June 30, 2015

– you have the option of filing to extend the end date of your grant to 12/31/15.

• There are no additional funds connected to the extensions.

• The goal is to help cover the gap that may develop between planning & implementation.

• Listen to last week’s recorded webinar or join us next week, April 3rd for another webinar on the extension.

Extension Process• Filing instructions on the AB86 website – under Certification

of Eligibility section. Click on the extension instructions.• Request a pre-populated face sheet from Karen Baker

[email protected] by March 27th.• Submit the completed Work Plan Excel Spreadsheet by

April 17, 2015 via ab86 inbox – [email protected] • Separately submit signed face sheets (original signatures

only) and if necessary a signed budget summary – 4 copies / blue ink. Due by April 17, 2015. Mail to Karen Baker (mailing address is in the instructions).

• For those who have requested face sheets already, Karen Baker will be sending updated sheets to you today.

Budget Sheets???

• Budget Summary & Detailed SheetsThe Budget Summary and Budget Detailed Sheets need to be completed for all extensions. If the grantee is moving more than 10% of the total grant amount from one object of expenditure to another as compared to the original budget submitted in February 2014 as part of the Certification of Eligibility, then the Budget Summary must be signed by the district's Chief Business Officer (or authorized designee) and the Project Director. The signed Budget Summary should have original signature and four signed copies in blue ink. This original signature document must be sent to the AB86 Office by April 17, 2015 . 6

Allowable Budget Items

• Related to the plan – pilots and strategies that are critical to continuing AB86 efforts for the beginning of the 15-16 school year.

• Allowable – professional development, program alignment, articulation efforts, direct instruction, supportive services, project coordination, and continued partner meetings.

• Not allowable – facilities, workspace changes, salaries not related to the pilots/strategies, large equipment & software purchases. 12

Implementation Survey

• The information gathered from this survey will help identify the priority needs of the regional consortia in order to best provide technical assistance and guidance.

• The survey link has been sent to all regional primary contacts and a copy of the survey has been sent to all contacts.

• Please work as a consortium to discuss the survey and develop answers jointly.

• Discussion Points……– current systems in place– key issues with those systems– data that is easy to collect/track,– data that isn't so easy to collect/track– how you plan to approach data collection in 15-16.
