September 2013 Sale. We have in house over 100 boxes of books and are expecting at least another 300-400 books in the next 10 days. We are receiv-ing very nice, high-quality books that have allowed us to make more money per book because we can charge more. Again, working smarter, not harder. We are also beginning to reconfigure and recon-struct the back two rooms of the Space. We have been given shelving by the Mall from a vacated ten-ant and are trying to use them to upgrade the two back rooms. This will involve some major moving and congestion in the Space. For that reason, the Evening Book Club has agreed to move their meet-ings to the Community Room. The Book Sale Co-Chairs want to thank Lotty and her group for helping us out.

Sorting will begin on April 11, 2013 and continue till the Sale. The days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Times are 10 am till 4 pm. Saturday is 10 am till 2 pm. As before, there will be "go-to" per-sons in charge of the Sorting for that day who will direct the work to be done. Although not required, you may call Peggy or Cheri or email to let us know that you are coming. If there are cancellations you will be notified by phone or email.

If you have questions or books to donate please call or email Peggy or Cheri. See you at Sorting!

We are now gathering titles for the 2014 reading list. We enjoy a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. The only hard and fast rule is that the book must be readily available in paperback. If the book is avail-able at the library, that is a plus in its favor. Have you read something this year that you'd heartily rec-ommend?

Please send suggestions to

Lynne Victorine ([email protected]).

Peggy Shifflett will lead the discussion of A Sum-mer of Hummingbirds by Christopher Benfrey. at 7 p.m. April 15 the Community Room at Tanglewood Mall. On May 13 (same time & location), Catina Webb will lead the discussion of Cleopatra: A Life, by Stacy Schiff.

Our final meeting is June 17 when Marcia Shelton will lead the discussion of Janet Reno: Doing the Right Thing by Paul Anderson.

2013-2014 Dues Are now payable and will be collected at the annual meet-ing. Dues are $75, which includes $49 in national dues, $15 to AAUW of Virginia and Branch dues of $11. Fifty year members are exempt from all dues, and there are other exemptions. For more information, contact
