SCOUTING REPORT

TOP 40 (13U) PLAYERS/PROSPECTS

1. Jaylen McDaniel, 6’5” PF/Center KC Pray & Play (MO) Div. I – (2021) The best prospect that we saw this week…Currently he is a long, wiry, four man that has the skills and upside to possibly move out to become a SF (wing player). He knows how to use his length well on both ends of the floor to his advantage…Seems to always play on balance when he shoots and defends which jeeps him from getting unnecessary fouls at this age. His offensive package right now contains a mice game from 17 feet in and he seems to be comfortable facing up and playing with his back to the basket. He did a really good job of moving his feet vertically and laterally which caused him to score with a smooth movement on offense….Agile player with huge wingspan. He also displayed a nice soft jump shot from 15 feet and in.

2. Jacory Wallace, 6’4’, Center, The Family (MI.) Div. I – (2021) A physical big body youngster, that gets great low-post position and has an array of low post moves with both hands to score in the paint. Has really good timing and is pretty light on his feet…Averaged about 3 blocks a game using his length, timing, and agility. Has the ability to grab a rebound and push it up the floor and start the break…Scores with ease over either shoulder.

3. Justin Johnson, 5’11” Guard, Atlanta Celtics Elite (GA) Div. I – (2021) A strong, physical, big body, that loves to put his head down and attack the chest of his defenders. He has a very strong, physical body, which he knows how to use in traffic to avoid fouls. Good straight-line attacker to the basket. Once he gets his shoulder past his defender, he is scoring at the basket because of his power and ability to finish at the rim with contact…Possesses a really good feel and understanding of the game as well. He took advantage of opportunities to post smaller players in the paint where he had a lot more strength and physical abilities. He also possesses a really deceptive first step off the dribble and a baseline spin move.

4. Travis Burrus, 5’8, 1/2G Atlanta Celtics (GA) Elite Div. I – (2021) Poise lefty guard; plays with a lot of composure in each game. The lefty will probably be more of a traditional PG on the next level, which should be an easy transition for him.
