The symposium tackled issues pertaining to the academic methodology in pharmacy and the future of the career as well as development opportunities for future generations of pharmacists. On his part, Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, reiterated that the symposium has contributed to connect students with modern pharmaceuticals and the available career paths to follow upon their graduation. Atatreh added that AAU will be hosting more meetings for all colleges which are based on academic partnerships with various organizations in order to enhance the AAU learning outcomes, ensure providing students with a suitable environment, and qualify them for the job market. I;J!!!IMMI D Moot Court for College of Law Students The AAU College of Law organized a Moot Court for students who have completed the training at the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Courts. The event took place at the AAU AlAin campus with the attendance of Pro£ Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, and representatives of the organizations where students received their training. At the end of the event, Prof . El Refae presented certificates of appreciation to the representatives of public organizations as well as the participating students. I;J!!!IM!ii D "Science and Life" Science Fair at AAU The AAU Deanship of Student Affairs , in collaboration with Ms. Seham Kora , Science and Life instructor. organized a science fair at Abu Dhabi campus. Pro£ Abdelhafid Belarbi , AAU Vice President, along with a number of faculty, staff. and students attended the fair. On his part, Pro£ Abdelhafid Belarbi, AA U Vice President, expressed his admiration of the fair and encouraged this kind of student activities highlighting the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent several diseases and underlining the importance of the conservation of the environment. www.aau.ac.ae 1 800-2468648 Portfolio Day at AI Ain University of Science and Technology The AAU College of Education organized the "rnjaz" Portfolio event. Pro£ Ghaleb El Refae. AAU President, attended the event along with Dr. Ibtehal Aburezq, Dean of the College of Education. as well as other deans and faculty members. Prof. El Refae expressed his appreciation of the educational programs which reflect the students' effort and convey creative ideas enriching the students' academic achievement and learning outcomes. At the end of the ceremony, Pro£ El Refae gave out certificates to the top-achieving students. He also viewed the portfolios which reflected a genuine and relentless effort on the students' part. Europe and SouthWest Asia. Eng. Abdelrahman Al Ashli and members of the technical team welcomed the students. Eng. Ku band, Ka band), the steps followed when launching a satellite, and other interesting information on satellites. AAU Organizes Blood Donation Campaign Al Ain University of Science and Technology; Abu Dhabi Campus organized a blood donation campaign in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank (ADBB) at Shaikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Pro£ Abdelhafid Belarbi, AA U Vice President, reiterated that the campaign is part of AAU's dedication to taking part in various social events which aim at raising awareness among students about the importance of actively engaging in societal issues and enriching their sense of belonging. AAU Students Visit Etihad Center for Disabilities

Al Ain university of Science . .. ~­and Technology students • visited Etihad Center for Disabilities to get to know • · more about the center's services. treatment. rehabilitation. and training programs. The visit falls in line with AAU's commitment to engaging with the community especially with persons with disabilities. The delegation included Ms. Seham Abdel W ahed. AA U faculty member. and a group of AAU students. The students toured the center's various sections and commended the impressive level of services and programs especially tailored to the persons with disabilities who attend the center.

AAU Engineering Students Attend ESREC 2013

The AAU College of Engineering and Information Technology attended the 4th Engineering Students Renewable Energy Competition 2013 (ESREC 2013) held at United Arab Emirates University. Fifty four teams represented by 183 students from 11 universities from the UAE and abroad took part in the competition which was opened by Prof. Reyadh A. Almehaideb. Dean of the College of Engineering at UAEU. in the attendance of Dr. N azih Mallat. Head of the Computer Engineering and Networks and Communications Department at AA U. as well as representatives from participating universities. l;mtll111!!ii D

AAU Students Visit ADISE 2013

The Deanship of Student Affairs at AlAin University of Science and Technology 1 Abu Dhabi campus conducted a visit to the Abu Dhabi International Sports Exhibition (ADISE 2013) held ADNEC. organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. and in sponsorship from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The AAU delegation included Dr. Zuhreia Shanaa. Deputy Dean of Student Affairs. student affairs employees. and 15 students. The students expressed their pleasure through taking part in the various sports events at ADISE in which over 100 local and international exhibitors participated.

Umbilical Cord Blood and Hereditary Diseases Lec­ture at AAU

As part of the AAU's thalassemia awareness campaign. the Deanship of Student Affairs in Abu Dhabi Campus. in cooperation with MedCells International. organized a lecture on "the importance of umbilical cord blood in the treatment of hereditary diseases". Faculty members. staff. and students attended the talk. Mr. Ziad Abu Zaytoon presented an explanation on storing stem cells from the umbilical cord blood at birth and the importance of that in the treatment of several hereditary diseases.
