The AARSE2014 conference is again set to be a major event in the African and international community of Earth observation and geo-spatial science, focussing on “Space Technologies for Societal benefits in Africa”, bringing together world-class scientists, academics, engineers and educators. This year’s themes focus on the characterization of dynamic Earth processes, assimilation, current and upcoming satellite missions and integrated Earth observation systems, deemed to culminate in a most interesting technical program. The conference will make a substantial contribution towards reinforcing Africa’s earth observation capabilities in the framework of AfriGEOSS. The conference programme will feature keynote speeches delivered by leading scholars, technical sessions reporting on the latest research, training sessions and forums for discussion of Earth Observation techniques. A Summer School for new PhD students will also be available. You are hereby invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations or poster papers to the scientific committee of AARSE2014. Paper selection is based on abstract and full papers, following the guidelines provided in the “Guidelines and Templates” documents that are available on the conference website: http://www.aarse2014.co.za/submissions/ Full papers will undergo a peer review process and will be published in the Refereed Conference proceedings. Please note that, there is an option to submit abstracts only, should you wish to present a paper or poster at the conference without publishing a paper. Upcoming submission deadlines 30 April 2014 Deadline for Submission of Abstracts 31 May 2014 Deadline for Submission of Peer-Review Full Papers (Note: Deadline applies if you want the paper to be reviewed for possible designation as a refereed paper in the proceedings.) Subsequent deadlines are available on the conference website. Papers and Abstracts received by the deadline will be considered for program placement under the standard peer review process.
