While Lancaster County has a reputation for rural living, it is made up of families and retirees looking for educational and entertainment opportunities and is a vibrant, modern, arts and literature-
loving community. There are three reputable colleges in the area, as well as major industry, bringing in an urban and educated population. Lancaster County sits near three major mid-Atlantic cities and
draws tourists and residents from all three.
Lititz was recently named by Budget Travel as “America’s Coolest Small Town” and has the reputation as a foodie destination, with two wine stores, four micro-brew pubs, a chocolate factory and
the country’s oldest pretzel factory. Lititz is also home to the “Rock Lititz” project, bringing in major touring musical and performance artists to design their tour productions.
