Describe common hematologic & oncologic emergencies, environmental disorders, neurotrauma cases, musculoskeletal emergency presentations, renal & urogenital disorders, cutaneous disorders, and pediatric disorders. 2. Recognize visual images associated with common emergency medicine presentations defined as critical or emergent in the 2016 Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine. 3. Identify the clinical presentation and discuss systemic infectious diseases, abdominal and gastrointestinal disorders, traumatic disorders, cardiovascular board topics, dermatologic emergencies and toxicology board topics. 4. Outline complications and management of endocrine/metabolic disorders, HEENT board topics, thoracic and respiratory disorders, obstetrics/gynecology emergencies and electrocardiography board topics. 5. Evaluate their progress throughout the course and apply the knowledge gained in the course to better prepare them for the written ABEM or AOBEM certification or recertification exam. TARGET AUDIENCE This course is designed for emergency medicine physicians certifying and recertifying with the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM), and emergency medicine physicians who want a rapid, thorough, and overall review of emergency medicine. METHODS OF INSTRUCTION In order to best meet the stated learning objectives, instruction will be provided in a lecture format, encompassing the core information most applicable to the written exams.
