In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge form and conventions of real media products?

• Within the media there are many different digipaks to buy. Some are better than others as some artists are more popular than others.

• My digipak challenges these other digipaks as my music video tells the story completely and not through a song, whereas, many music video stories are told with a song.

• My digipak is bright and colourful, it stands out and it is different. It is not based on an artist but it is based on friendship and love, this can attract many different types of people.

• I have based some of my digipak on other digipaks I have seen for example with Jessie J. I liked the style of her magazine advert, so I based mine on the style of hers.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? • Love hearts – I incorporated a small white heart

throughout my digipak as the record label is called Love Heart. I included the hearts with my DVD cover, magazine advert and my disc design. Not only do they show the record label they also show love and friendship which is what my digipak is about.

• Location – I made sure that my locations were family and friends oriented. I picked Sandringham Woods and Hunstanton Beach, these are both beautiful areas for scenery and recording.

• Fonts – I kept to a friendly font such as ‘Ravie’ as that is the main style of my product. I tried to keep the colours of my fonts matching the colours of the actor’s clothes and the scenery around her.

• Colour Scheme- I tried to keep the same colour scheme going throughout the digipak. The main colours I used were white and navy blue. This is because of the clothes the actor is wearing, I wanted them to all look good together and match.

What have you learnt from your audience feedback? •I have learnt that my designs are liked,

people think that they are bright and straight to the point. They like the colours I have chosen and think that it is good that they match the clothes of the actor within my work.

•I could change the design of the disc as it has been said to be too simple but on the other hand it has also been said to be sweet.

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages.

• To film my music video I used a HD camera that I borrowed from the college. To create and edit my music video I used the Apple Macs that were supplied at the college. I used the programmes ‘Final cut Pro’ and ‘soundtrack pro’ to make my track.

• To create the rest of my digipak I used the PC’s at the college and also my own personal laptop. I used the programme ‘Photoshop’ to create my DVD cover, magazine advert and my disk design.

• To research into digipaks I used the internet and Google, there are many ideas and examples on the internet. I used youtube to research music videos, there are also a lot of examples and ideas on this sight.

• I have been uploading my findings, ideas, working progress and final pieces on a blog called ‘Word Press’.
