Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

Locations- followed

In terms of locations we have kept similar places such as in towns and streets, the actors just walking, also we kept with the band original location of a place such as a shop but we decided to use a train station keeping slightly with there location.

Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

Colour- Challenged

We have challenged the way the libertines used colour as we added a bronze effect to our video to make it look rougher than it was and it dims some of the light colours making it look sharper.

Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

Narrative- Followed

The Narrative of our music video follows the one the Libertines use the narrative is simple it concentrates on the relationship of the band in particular the relationship between the 2 main members. Also the narrative adds in pieces of the band performing which our video also does but they perform live whereas in our video it’s in a music room.

Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

Costume- Followed

With our costume we have followed the conventions of the genre by all our actors wearing jeans like the Libertines do in the original music video we have from our research we found the usual clothing is jeans and T-shirt so we followed that even thought the Libertines have two band members with matching jackets.

Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

Our Digital follows the font used by the libertines but with a twist we have used black for the words and white for the backing making them stand out more than the Libertines front cover does. Also the font we have used is slightly different to that of the Libertines but it stands out just as well as the original font used by the Libertines

With our colour scheme we have challenged that used by the libertines they have used a fiery orange colour to link with the song name “Don't look back into the sun” were as we have used a black colour scheme using white to make the writing stand out and attract the target audience more.

Question 1: In what ways does your media production use, develop or challenge forms and conventions?

The Layout of our advert follows that used by the libertines with pictures in the same place and writing in front of that plus the writing at the bottom is in the same layout. But the fonts used are different and our advert stands out better than the one by the Libertines due to the use of colour and font.

Question2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The three products are effective together as the pictures for both the advert and Digipak are from the video. Also the Digipak and advert combine well as they both have dark backgrounds so they fit well together . Also the fonts used on the avert and Digipak are the same showing further combination. They sell the album well together as the advert is eye-catching as the picture is bright and stands out attracting the audiences gaze, thus attracting our audience in turn selling the album effectively. Also the advert shows the connection of the two main members of the band.

Question 3: What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Our audience research influenced our video in terms of costume was helpful and was used for example from our research we found most bands of our genre wear jeans and t-shirts so most of our actors do plus a hoodie was mentioned so one our band members wears one a cardigan was also given as an answer so one our members wears one of them also from our research we found they were casual clothing so all of our actors are in casual looking clothing. Also from our research we found an age group which was 17 so all are actors are 17 apart from 1 who is 16 this will give the band a link with there audience which are 16-17. Also from our research we found that mostly males are into our genre of music so all the band members are male so they will attract there chosen audience.

Question 4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

In my media project I used technologies that have been invented within the last 5-10 years, for example the camera we used was a Nikon d600 camera we used this in the construction of our video and was highly useful to use by making our video the best quality technically. In the planning and evaluation stages we used user sites such as Blogger to present our work which was so much easier than doing it on paper another user site used was YouTube this was used to post the video once completed and edited, also YouTube helped to gain audience feedback through comments and we linked a questionnaire from survey monkey to it .Survey Monkey is the site we used to make all our survey's and questionnaires so it was useful to collect results from our audience for the evaluation and planning, another site we used was Facebook we used this for the initial research and evaluation to gain audience feedback on questionnaires and our video it’s self. For our editing we used Moviemaker on a Mac laptop which helped us in constructing and editing our video. Another way I have used technology is embedding into PowerPoint 2007 from YouTube for my evaluation I did this by firstly by going to the developer tab then clicking more tools I went down the list to shockwave flash object, then created a box, then right clicked on the bock and went to properties, pasted the URL and deleted “watch?” and replaced a (=) with a (/), then changed loop to false and playing to false and view slideshow and the video should be there, also for the evaluation I have inserted a hyperlink to a questionnaire. Finally for the construction of our Digipak we used Photoshop we used it to construct our pictures and some text to create both an advert and Digipak to go with our video.
