We were mindful of what our audience’s pre-conceptions of ‘Nemesis’ would be, so these are some of the words most commonly associated with it.

All of them are relevant to our film because a main plot feature is that the characters form a deadly rivalry on account of a betrayal.

• However after doing some research we decided on ‘Nemesis’, partly because it has a more memorable dramatic sound, but also because it has deeper meaning….VINDICATION

MYTHOLOGYNemesis: the goddess of revenge

The name Nemesis is related to the Greek word νέμειν

némein, meaning "to give what is due"In the ancient Greek religion, Nemesis was the goddess who enacted retribution against those who succumb to hubris (arrogance before the gods). Another name was Adrasteia, meaning

"the inescapable".

Nemesis believed that no one should ever have too much good, and she had always cursed those who were blessed with countless gifts.
