A Word From Your
Chapter Directors
Lyle & Sheri Altes
Hey “O”
It is hard to believe it is July already and it has been so long since we have
been together as a group but, as with everything, this will pass hopefully
sooner than later. We have tried to get together on some small rides. Last
weekend, a few went to Chapter W picnic and I hear they had a good time
and were able to safely social distance. We will continue to watch what is
happening with the virus and when it is appropriate and safe to do, we will
have some small rides (probably not in the next few weeks with the new
restrictions) but as soon as it is safe to do.
In the meantime, I hope some of you have gotten online and watched the
Virtual Wing Ding. There is a lot of good information coming out of there
and vendor giveaways as well. I went online yesterday and what did I see
but our own Randy Reese. He is on with the GWRRA University, so check it
out. You can also find the sessions on Facebook.
Speaking of Randy, I hope you have seen the July University training sched-
ule he sent out. Please check it out. There are several great classes and
instructors make it fun and interesting so please sign up. You will also
meet a lot of great people from all over the U.S. and other countries.
Stay safe and ride when it is safe. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

NATIONAL RIDE TO WORK DAY
Well—at least one of our members “RODE TO WORK”
Thanks for sharing your photo Ken.
Randy & Kathy Reese · GWRRA University Assistants
GWRRA University will offer eight classes in July. Classes are about 1 hour long and each class will be offered twice so you have 16 opportunities to increase your knowledge with some fun online training. See below for details.
DeeDee and I arrived at the southwest parking lot of Buc-ee’s in Bastrop to lead the ride.
Joining the ride were John and Wanda Osborn, John’s sister Jennie, guests from Bastrop,
Travis and Lynda Gilley, and Harvey Haney. Our group left a little after 9:30 and arrived at
Washington on the Brazos State Park a little before noon. As we checked in at Headquar-
ters, a representative from Michelin Tires asked a few of us some tire questions. Michelin
Tire Company is considering making motorcycle tires again. That explains why I could not
find a front tire from Michelin last week.
When we arrived at the Pavilion, we were greeted by Chapter W picnic sponsors Lynn and
Cindy Harris and members Vern and Suzanne Neal. They were wonderful hosts and we
had a great few hours visiting. Some of the discussion was about Vern’s 2018 Wing which
helped Travis with his new 2018 yellow trike with matching Bustec trailer. There were a
few other people in the park but, we had plenty of space to visit and eat our picnic lunch
at leisure. Overall, the weather was very good, a little warm but, no rain.

Chapter ‘O” Couple of the Year
1976 Honda Gold Wing $2595 OBO
Classic Honda Gold Wing! Very good con-dition. When I was in college, I bought a brand new 76 Gold Wing that looked like this one. I bought this bike in April of 2014 to relive those college days and it needed a complete restore. Restoration work in-cludes: windscreen, timing belts, carb kits, new engine (new to this bike, it is an origi-nal 76 engine), starter, mufflers/headers powder coated, seat cover, powder coated crash bars, tank and side covers repainted to original Honda design, mirrors, cables, tires and battery.
The bike is 44 years old and requires some tender loving care but runs well. I've got it registered as a classic vehicle to avoid the annual inspections, but it could be a daily rider if you wish. I have 2 other Gold Wings and need to clear some garage space. Cycle Trader list the value of this bike at around $4000. This is a nice bike for the price.
I’ll make a GWRRA member a good deal.
