A Word From Area 1 Gwinnett County Council of PTA’s

The Area 1 Gwinnett County Council of PTA’s is comprised of 36 local unit PTA’s from the Brookwood, Meadowcreek, Parkview, Shiloh, and South Gwinnett School clusters. The Executive Board of the Area 1 Gwinnett County Council of PTA’s would like to thank all of the students that participated in this year’s Reflections program. We would also like to thank the parents, teachers, and school administrators that supported and encouraged these students to submit entries into this year’s program. All children deserve opportunities to explore and be involved in the arts. The arts play a critical role in a student’s success in school and beyond. This year’s theme of “Within Reach” allowed the students to express themselves in some of the most wonderful and creative ways. We would like to give a special thanks to this year’s Reflections Chair for Area 1, Shantelle Grace. She has dedicated countless hours to ensuring that this year’s program was successful. We would also like to thank the members of her committee that volunteered their time and efforts to support her and the area. A Word About Judging Judges were selected for their experience in the subject matter and their knowledge of student's abilities. They were asked to evaluate each entry by considering creativity, artistic merit and interpretation of the theme. Our judges carefully considered all entries and scored them accordingly using a rubric. Tabulation results were also verified independently. First and Second place winners will continue to the State Level of competition.
